why is Papa Johns giving away so much free pizza?

i have gotten 4 emails in the past week offering 50% off entire orders, and then i get an email today saying if i order a pizza before july 15th then my next pizza is free... what the hell is going on over there? how are they not losing money with all these offers?

Because the input needed to make their pizzas is dirt cheap. If anything, the deals are just telling of how crappy of food quality the cheese, sauce, dough, etc are

I think it costs less than a dollar per pizza when they spread out their cost...also Dominos and Pizza Hut have dropped their prices a ton with their new marketing campaigns so now Papa Johns is by far the most expensive so I think they are trying to figure out their next move

Dominos is dominating the scene right now, they have to do something to keep up

I would assume there was a noticeable dip in PJ sales so they hit back with the same deal.
We spent $220.00 on pizza today at work. A 50% deal would have been nice.

cheese isnt cheap, i worked at rotolos for a while, and cheese by far is the most expensive thing to buy, and its not even close... but im sure the cheese at PJ isnt anywhere near what rotolos uses
