Best goal I've ever seen live.

the RvP volley versus Charlton cemented my love for Arsenal, the EPL, and him (unfortunately :( ) when my fandom was in its nascent stages.

Easily. But with all of the classic games I've watched; European nights throughout the 70's and 80's; none of that comes even close. McAlister's against Everton in 2001 because of the timing and setting, or maybe some of Fowler's. Dalglish's unreal 180 spin around in that famous thrashing of Spurs 7-0 in the 70's. Hell even Kuyt's against United in the dying seconds to send them home in the FA semis still gives me chills. There have been some incredible moments.
But if you want to talk about just pure unbridled skill, void of time and place and stage, it has to be the best the club has ever seen. No question.

RvP's volleys are legendary, but what Suarez did in those first two touches to round Krul is arguably impossible. Anyone who's played the game before knows that that goal is a once in a lifetime sort of thing. Maybe even once in a generation.

yeah, i'm not particularly arguing the merits. just giving my favorite live goal.
newcastle has had the two most spectacular two-touch-then-shot goals ever scored against them.

Draconian Sanctions must be proud.

So, who are you pulling for this weekend?
The underdogs, BvB?? Or are you ready to invite Bayern into out exclusive club?

BvB. Won't happen, but would love to see such a massive upset. Especially with Gotze out.
Plus I'm not ready to invite new members to the club yet.

I'm already more of a Dortmund fan anyway. Sucks Götze won't be playing, but they're still fun to watch.

I agree, I'd like the upset...
However, I have to admit Bayern is a worth potential member... Syill not ready to welcome the likes of ManUre

Oh absolutely. Out if all the potentials, I'd prefer Bayern over all of them.

Wilson move to Hearts finalized.
Can't say I'm surprised. He clearly wants to play and Rodgers didn't see enough in him to play him a little now.
A little disappointed as I hoped he would grow into a pretty good CB. Still that potential I guess, just not enough.
Not sure how much we got for him - but I'm hoping this won't be another case of receiving less than we paid for a player like the last four or so years.

Wonder what his wages are.

Kind of getting up there in age, and has had some persistent knee trouble. The dude definitely has a great resume', though. Should be a good replacement for Carra IMO.

If we get Papa, then I think this is a pretty good signing/insurance policy... loads of experience. Will also buy time for Kelly, Wisdom or both to develop into premier league CBs...
Knowing FSG, I cant imagine his wages are ridiculous... As much as I'd have to like to see another year, Carra's wages are off the books now... he was a top earner at the club..

As with all other signings, only time will tell how good of a move it was.
I like the business though so long as he is in the £50-70k/week range. It makes logical sense and he isn't a bad 3rd option CB. He will bring experience and leadership to a very young locker room, and he will be able to mentor Coates, Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson, Wisdom, etc. for a season or two.
It also helps he is a "new" CB. Comfortable with a possession system and still has some skill on the ball according to the matches I watched him in this season. I also read a few weeks ago that City allowed less goals per match when he played than Kompany.. Not that I'm putting too much stock into that, but it's somewhat reassuring to know.
