Didn't you hear the party line being spewed by the media lately? All the recruiting woes fall on Grewe.

Oh, yeah I heard. I just assumed that when a head coach makes such an obvious error and mistake, he remains responsible for that mistake as long as it still has effect and until he corrects it. Apparently, that is incorrect.

It's not the first time he's thrown his players under the bus. He has done nothing to make me change my position that he is a whiny bitch most of the time.

He was quite an a-hole about throwing the players under the bus in 2007, but I was willing to let it slide, because what he was saying was mostly true (just like Lombardi when he first arrived at the Packers and told them that they were losing because they were bad players).

Over time, however, his whole schtick of acting like an a-hole to the players all the time has gotten old. Over a year ago I pegged him as having the Steinbrenner personality--not really that smart, and a little insecure, but insanely dedicated to squeezing championships out of his guys.

I still feel that way, but shite, what a dumb fricking comment.

Oh come on now with your logic and reason. Why should a national champion coach ever have deal with the consequences of his mistakes?

Could you imagine Miles claiming QBs are either good or suck and Crowton should stay on as OC? The rant would have burned down

the baseballistas will be here shortly to defend Paul

By the way, if you want to see something really depressing, look at the comparison between Sanchez's experience and qualifications for the job with those of South Carolina's hitting coach/recruiting coordinator.

This is actually a good comparison. Les can be a knucklehead but at least he puts his program first.

This comparison will not end well for Paul's Godson.

Haven't been a fan since he was sub .500 midway through SEC play the year before they won CWS. The ENTIRE rant wanted him fired at that point. I think they won like 25 straight games to get into the CWS, and obviously won it next year.

Never been a fan of Paul's and his continuing to throw players under the bus and passing of the buck is one reason why. Javi was passing the back off on pitching pre season this year IIRC. Lot of buck passing with this regime.

If true, this is damage control on his part and it's not working.

maybe not the best comparison. USCe has probably more K's (427) then anyone else in the conference, and a BA of about .259. but can't argue that they are playing for a championship, and we aren't.

SCAR had the #1 offense in the SEC. LSU had the #7 offense in the SEC. Big difference.

For regular season conference games ( LINK)...

Runs Scored
(Rank, Team, Total, Avg. per Game)
1. SC*, 163, 5.62
2. AR, 158, 5.27
3. AU, 152, 5.07
4. VU, 146, 4.87
5. UF, 143, 4.77
6. UK, 141, 4.70
7. LS, 139, 4.63

That's why I talked about his qualifications for the job when he was hired. Go look at what he accomplished prior to be hiring to be a coach at a premiere program. Then go look at Sanchez's.

ETA: we struck out 379 times. Not that great a disparity.

I'm hoping the tweet left out some important details of that sentence.

If not....yikes

Also our timely hitting still blew. A fifth of those runs probably came from wild pitches.

We probably had fewer ABs since they were scoring one more run per game as well.
