The four ways I've cooked 'em in the past;

(1) make homemade pizzas (or just add it to frozen pizza) featuring banana peppers and whatever spicy meat you prefer.
(2) mix 'em in just about any salad to add a different flavor.
(3) Stuff the peppers with a bacon, mayo, green onion, and a little garlic mix, bake them for just a few min.
(4) wrap shrimp with the banana pepper, bacon (or ham), and toss it on a grill

Start by cutting the pepper long ways. I make a crab stuffing and spoon it in to the pepper. Bake it at 350 till stuffing is cooked. I like to broil it for about 3-5 mins before I pull them out so that they become very crispy.

No banana peppers, but I buy the bags of the multicolored sweet peppers and stuff them with raw Italian sausage. Sometimes, I had a mixture of Italian cheese and some chopped sweet onion, but not so much cheese that it's "cheesy". Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or so. People really like them. They get eaten up very quickly.

One way that I've had them made me never think of them the same again...

Slice lengthwise and seed

In a separate bowl combine finely chopped garlic, onion, green onion, parsley, and bell pepper (minced)...combine with one pack of Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage mix and one egg...Mix thoroughly...

Stuff (but dont overstuff and broil until done...

I've even seen them like this broiled slightly (with the same mixture) then battered and deep fried...

Why the egg? I don't use egg in the Italian sausage mixture as it doesn't need it.

You broil them the entire time? On what broil temp? I baked and they roasted in a few places fine.

I forgot to add that I cook them on a rack over a baking sheet so they aren't sitting in grease.
