Anyone ever caught a spoonbill catfish?? (with pic)

My Brother-in-Law caught one before we went on a family vacation. I made him send the pic to me so I could share it with ya'll. This was the first time that I had seen one.

Cousin caught one before when he reele it up to the boat and picked it up and saw it he threw the pole, he didn know what he had pulled in!

Where is tha at?

There are a few like that at the aquarium in New Orleans I think. Not sure if same fish.

Many. All accidentally snagged fishing the diversion canal spillway. Takes 10 minutes to get them in on an ultralight in that current.

Seriously..2 of my buddies caught one as 5 foot long. Said it was really heavy.

He was perch jerking when he caught it. He was surprised he managed to get it on the boat.

Ive seen some huge ones surface in a bayou here that connects to the Ms River. Never caught one on rod and reel though

He said no and he threw it back anyhow. They are also called paddlefish and my BIL said they have been around for a long time. Also, up until recently it was illegal to catch/possess them because of their endangered status. I haven't had a lot of time to research them so these are all his words.
