I know Louisiana typically doesn't produce many high level QB's, but are there any in the next couple of years that have a real chance at being heavily recruited by LSU.

Jesuit and Rummel both have D1 QB's this year.

Shaw and Destrahan have young QB's that will be heavily recruited.

JD Booty was from that list. Not sure what class he was in, but Berlin at least played in the 21st Century.

Perriloux was a 5* and Jefferson was a 4*.

The problem lies in the offensive philosophes currently used in the state. Let's take a look at the top 5 programs in the state, arguably. West Monroe, John Curtis, and Acadiana all run forms of the veer. Kinda hard to produce a top QB in that offense. Neville puts Diarse, their best athlete, at QB and let's him create. This is what 90% of the state seems to do now. Evangel is the only team of those listed that runs a true spread. They've produced some great QBs, they've chosen to go elsewhere.

In '68 or '69, there was an African-American QB at Carroll named James Harris that was great. Me, at Bastrop and some Neville and Ouachita players all went to the fence at the top of a small hill and watched James Harris play. WE were not allowed in at that time in history, and had to stay at the fence to watch. He went on to play for thhe San Diego Chargers for several years. Nice guy from all accounts. This was the same time that I played against Bert jones at Ruston and 2 or 3 years after Terry Bradshaw at Woodlawn. Bert was 2nd team all-district and Allen Taylor at Neville was 1st team all-district.

Next year has 3 D1 kids at least and they are all possible LSU guys. I really like the Gibson kid and have heard nothing but good things about Isom from Destrehan. Some of my family are Destrehan alums and they love the kid.

I forgot his name but theres a kid that will be the starter at Catholic this year and I was extremely impressed with him as a freshman. I heard he took over at the end of last year for them but I don't know if that is true. Had a very live arm with accuracy at a very young age when I saw him. Will know more after this season

A.M. Barbe High School is actually switching to a new offensive scheme. They are slinging the ball all over the field.

Jared Foster, I thought he was a walk-on or gray shirt or something of that sort.

Is he all baseball now?
