I think I've found a good spot for the pot--only gets morning and late afternoon sun.
Have also been told to trim the plant fairly often.
Any other suggestions?

P.S. For the beer guys, just had Alaskan's IPA. Pretty damn tasty.

They flower too early. Easier just to buy from store.

I havent had much success growing cilantro or parsley. For some reason i cant grow leafy vegetables/herbs.
I suck at growing lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, parsley and especially bad at cilantro. Spinach has been good to me though.

man i bought some cilantro plants a month or two ago and planted them. they immediately started flowering. i pulled them out last week and the roots didnt even start to branch out. still had the same root ball shape from the containers. i hear its tough to keep cilantro going and im not a green thumb. think im just gonna stick to buying it at the store

My cilantro is flowering great.
Any tips on keeping rosemary happy? I think mines gotten too much water in April and isn't happy with me.

Yeah, I know it upper cheap at the store but that's not the point. Ha
And Rosemary is Panny Ceickets proof. Can't kill that stuff.

Cilantro won't grow in So Louisiana in the summer. Too hot down here not matter how much you water it.
Try to find some Vietnames cilantro, it will grow here in the heat. It looks different but has the same, maybe stronger flavor.

What he said. I grow it but only in my fall garden and it does very well.
I have rosemary and thyme in big pots that have been growing for ten years. You need good soil with well draining pots for most herbs . My basil seems to do better in the ground.
In a pot I take a piece of a broken terra cotta pot and partially cover bottom drain hole then add a few inches of gravel then the potting soil then a thin layer of crushed pine straw on top to keep the rain from packing it.

I planted cilantro for the first time last spring. It goes to seed and goes away shortly after maturity. It didn't come back in the fall, but it did this spring. Fall planting might work better, but it just doesn't last like parsley does. My parsley came back this spring as well. It never totally died up, but it's nice and full. However, I need to trim it up more often.

I tried cilantro for the first time this year. I knew going in that it was a long shot once the weather got warm. It bolted very quickly--started flowering middle of last week. I picked/used/gave away most of it this weekend. I will try it again in the fall.
