On/off plane?

Oh, and 1 throws a bigger wake. More boat in the water, displaces more water and creates a bigger wave.

Are the boats identical, or is one a bateau and the other a 70' offshore boat?

#1 as long as the positive energy doesnt interfere with the kinetic energy and the barometric pressure stays constant around 30.29 with a 4 knot east wind above 30 degree north latitude.

If any of the variable change then the answer will remain the same

Boat 1

Boat 1 is a displacement hull
Throws more of a wake

Boat 2 is a planing hull
Less of a wake

Unless Boat 1 is stationary . Then all bets are off

Pic #1 does. Impressive rooster tail on pic 2 though. Thumbs up for being a grown up that my 7 year old daughter could outdraw
