I'll be there everyday. We set up our main site in front of the Acura stage but I spend most of the time in the Blues tent

Good luck getting beer/going to bathroom at the big shows!
I'm usually there 4-5 days year. ALWAYS in the Blues tent.

We BYOB and a brass pass for the bathrooms plus a couple other places. We got this down to a science

Ill probably only go to the Fairgrounds one or two days (definitely 5.5.12 for MMJ and Herbie Hancock) but I will attend MANY late night shows including but not limited to:

Very tempting, especially since I missed them at Voodoo last year. Ticket prices outside the venue will probably be through the roof though. I wish B.I.I.G. was playing a show. That's my favorite current NOLA funk group (Ian and Ivan Neville, Russell Batiste, and George Porter Jr.). Kind of like a modern Meters with GPJ still holding it down.

i'm probably going to the howlin wolf show for the Papa Grows Funk show

It's all one show and $75 face tickets, going for closer to $200 right now. lol. You can prob see papa grows for a little cheaper a few days later at the maple leaf.

Unfortunately they are scheduled for the same time slot on Saturday...I was planning on seeing Levon Helm (RIP) originally but it looks like I am leaning towards Herbie Hancock at this point.

Yeah I'll probably bounce between the two. Have already seen MMJ a couple of times and will be at Herbie's sunrise set at Congo Square

Cool...I used to feel the same way-then I hit 40. Now I hang on the fringes. I think I was the reason they passed the 8'x8' blanket rule--I used to set up two boat tarps and guard my ground like it was gold.
Anyone leaving the Sauvage St. Gate, if you head straight out to where it deadends on Grande Rte. St. John (about two blocks) there'll be a kid playing a keyboard with an amp out on the street after Fest. Be kind and give him a buck--he's my son!
