Here's my latest addition.

How I mounted it

I used 1 1/4 conduit and shoved it into the rod holders. this required some lubrication in the form of power steering fluid I had sitting around.
Then I used conduit clamps to mount it to the 2x4. I left the end of the conduit open so that I can still use them as rod holders.

after a paint job

It looks like I'm running diesel stacks.

also, for anyone looking for more dry storage, PetSmart sells air tight pet food storage containers for about $20. They have different sizes and this one happens to fit perfectly in a milk crate. I put a quick paint job on it so it would match a little better

kinda. It will just make long runs easier. Ive got two bad shoulders and paddling certainly takes it toll on them.

and I just wanted to do it.

That's a terrible brick step job.
Cut them down, less resistance, the stacks I mean.

At first glace I thought it was through the hull permanently mounted. I was VERY impressed for a second, and then I saw the 2x4

I personally like it a whole bunch. Wouldn't even bring paddles.

I need some drag to slow this bad boy down.

I probably will though. they dont need to be that tall.

If it dies you had better have a back-up plan-paddles.

I like it. It will come in handy going against a 15 mph headwind. How much of a PITA is it to put on when u launch?

I haven't taken it out yet. I Just got done in the last hour. The mount is going to stay on all the time. the trolling motor is very easy to put on and shouldn't be and tougher than loading your tackle box and rods.

Sweet. Let us know how it does. Nonce I get my new yak, I plan on adding a trolling motor. Seems like every time I fish, I'm paddling back to the launch against the tide and into a stiff headwind.

About how much weight did it add?

the motor and mount are hardly anything. the weight will come from the battery. it just depends on what size you go with. I have a deep cycle that weighs 50lbs. I'm going to see how it is with that and adjust accordingly.
