Butch over JJ...

And butch is my least favorite name mentioned.

JJ would be a terrible hire, this is from a 7yr season ticket holder. Won't make it 8 yrs with that hire. JMO.

This is the most prescient thing I've read regarding LSU hoops in some time. This is 99% of the fan base and posters, IMO.

"Packed the Superdome!"

"Shaq came here!"

"The PMAC was rockin'!"

Yeah, Notre Dame and BYU used to be national title contenders in football, too.

LSU Basketball needs to be BUILT, not RECOVERED.

I've liked trent and supported him. With that said, the guy is dirt in my book, now. I don't care that he left. how he left is where i have an issue.

he signed one player in the fall. the spring signing period is approaching. hamilton's gone and left us on the hook without anyone to fill the five scholarships available. he's leaving us in as bad as shape as he inherited.

he ran because he felt he wouldn't get the job done here. coward move. lsu was better to him than him to lsu. you want to leave? get the players here and leave the place in better shape than you inherited.

Well, the effects of the "draconian sanctions" lasted 11 years, so I figure the effects of "draconian Brady" could last at least 6 or 7, right?

My feelings too Sheep. I can only sigh and bite my lip when my old friends who have abandoned the program say how much they miss the Dale days.

I miss the days of going to the tournament regularly as much as anyone, but it doesn't mean trying to re-create a Dale template is the only solution.

Especially if JJ is that conduit to the past. Hell, if you're going to reach down to that level to get a head coach I think Kermit's a better option.

I'm still celebrating this.

Johnny Jones would be a better coach, almost by default.

same here. I would love to see Johnny Jones come here and I really don't understand why people don't like it. What is wrong with hiring Johnny Jones?

Why hire JJ. What has he been doing since he left LSU. I don't have a clue. I know he was a joke of an assistant coach. Hear stories right after he graduated that weren't very flattering. Maybe he has learned the game since he left. I don't know.

But so want a coach that know how to run an offense and demands his player play with discipline.

This.

His ties to Dale and LSU are the only reason he's even being considered, and that just ain't enough IMHO.

And again, if you're going to settle for this level of coach, Kermit's a better coach, and a comparable recruiter who has LSU ties as well and probably wants the job pretty badly too.

But I think Kermit would be settling too.

A young, enthusiastic and energetic assistantt from a name basketball school would be preferable to me.

If we hire Jones I will not be happy.

Does anyone remember a head coach as he leaves recommending his replacement? I do. Bill Arnsbarger recomemded his replacement. How did that go for us? Not quite the same situation, but still not a good idea. Do you think he will recommend someone he really thinks will succeed were he failed miserably. I don't tink so.

Nobody will, except the Pumpers of Sun. They'll be happy with anybody.

BTW, Arnsparger endorsed Archer, when we could have hired Spurrier or Shanahan. How'd that work out?

Alleva will be run out of town if this goes down and he totally blows this hire.

Dude, he's leaving us in way worse shape than he came into. I'm glad you are FINALLY coming around to it.
