I know its early. I know we are coming off a great season. But for being this early, it seems the staff is really busting their humps to shape this class early.

Is it just me or is that the case? If so what do you attribute it to besides what I already mentioned?

we have a coaching staff in place that wants more....be it championships or high visibility for career advancement. we are in a very good place right now and it is heartening to see the number of kids from NLa. getting in early.

When you have a great season like we had, recruiting usually doesn't pick up until the year after.

Also, we were on primetime every week just about and I think the top five most watched football games last year featured LSU.

Also also, we have one of the most recognizable faces in football on our team, who is an underclassman. Tyrann gives kids hope they can do what he did early at LSU.

And finally, we upgraded our recruiting with Adam Henry and Corey Raymond.

this sounds all fine and good and I agree for the most part but we don't have an out-of-state commit yet. all the major schools, usc, georgia, bama, auburn, georgia etc have 1 or more oos commits. so, I think its a stretch to say "tearing it up" but we are leading for several top oos guys. maybe in a couple of weeks we can really say "tearing it up".

Will we be "tearing up" when an out-of-state prospect commits?

if we get a couple of oos commits like barrett and prevot then tearing it up works for me. currently, we have 9 la. guys and probably 3 or 4 of the top 5 instate guys are not committed yet. so not "tearing it up" yet.

DeVante Kincade

If nothing else, that video shows he has one of the quickest releases I've seen. If he's got accuracy and all the other things a QB must have, I agree LSU should go after him.

most of our committed recruits or ranked in the top 20 at there position. Can't say that for last year's class so i would say we doing pretty good. We land and out of state stud or 2 and I would use the words tearing it up then and only then.

People don't give LM enough credit when it comes to managing this program. Think about where we were in Jan/Feb/March. A terrible stretch of 3 months. He kept it all together, made some really good hires after loosing coaches and now we are rolling. Momentum has so much to do with recruiting and right now we have some serious momentum. Everything is falling in place and the only thing I am worried about is if we can convince Mett to stay 2 years.

Many of the TOP oos guys will be doing hat ceremonies at the last second.

I am cool with the start so far.

This is where prayer kicks in. Visualize your favorite OOS player saying on his twitter that he is committing to LSU!!
Imagine his name and the 5 stars, on rivals LSU page.

Miles does do a great job of hiring the right assistant coaches. About the only bad hire he really made was the co def coordinator but he fixed that pretty quick.

Even Crowton did a good job with the offense in 2007. The dismal offensive showing in 2008 was a lack of an experienced QB and no running game and you can bet Miles has fixed that because after that year he made sure that rushing the football would always be a priority and he would not lack for bodies on the oline.

Agreed. Will be interesting to see how the star counts rise/fall for the committments before NSD 2013.
