Just moved into house with natural gas line coming out at back patio, looks ideal to hook up to BBQ pit and cast iron pot. Will this give enough heat to boil seafood?

I've seen people use the existing gas lines coming from the ground in their front yard so I'm sure you can do it, but I think you need a low pressure apparatus from what I've heard.

Read this. You have to buy a converter for your grill. You can't just hook it up and turn it on. Natural gas has about half the BTUs of propane.

For boiling seafood you will be a large low pressure Natural gas burner.

You can find some online..

You will not get an intense fire for a seafood boil without a compresssor. It will boil, but it will take longer than propane.

For your grill, check out the charbroil infra red grills. They come with an LP conversion kit and they get very hot.

Wow, I just remembered. I have a 'bib' or outlet coming out of my patio exterior wall. It delivers from my propane tank. I've never tried to use it because I don't know how. If I unscrew the cap won't the gas just come spewing out before I can attach a regulator of some type?
