Steph Curry is a much bigger miss than Lin. Curry's dad played in the NBA. Then, to make matters worse, everyone followed that up by missing on Seth Curry.

There are NBA players all over rosters that had few or no major offers.

So does he only recruit players that people want him to?

Reading into that comment much? He's just saying it's not like Lin was a highly touted recruit that Stanford needed to land (think the opposite of Ricardo Gathers for TJ at LSU).

How did he all of sudden start getting all of this playing time? Is it because Carmelo went down?

He was cut by Houston and Kevin McHale as well..........

What this guy is doing in a short time span is amazing.....and the Knicks are reaping the financial rewards because it adds an entire segment of a population that typically could care less about NBA basketball.

Lets wait and see if he even has a good year the rest of this season before we start dubbing this guy as king of the world.

Are you like making it your own personal cause to calm down any hype over this kid? Dude, admit it, he is really fricking good.

I'd say. He is the only story right now. He has literally picked right up whee Tebow left off. Wow...what a month and a half for this kid.

Monday, Dec. 12• Houston Rockets signed forward Marcus Morris. Claimed guard Jeremy Lin off waivers from Golden State.
Tuesday, Dec. 27• New York claimed guard Jeremy Lin off waivers from Houston.
Friday, Jan. 20 Lin and his teammate, center Jerome Jordan, were sent to the Knicks' D-league team, Erie Bayhawks, to get some work. Lin in his only start for Erie goes for a triple-double in the win and apparently showed enough to be held out of the next game before heading back to the parent club. His line the night that started it all the "Linsanity":
pos min fgm-a 3pm-a ftm-a +/- off def tot ast pf st to bs ba pts
G 44:22 9-17 0-3 10-11 +13 1 10 11 12 2 2 5 1 2 28
Monday, Jan. 23• New York recalled center Jerome Jordan and guard Jeremy Lin from Erie (NBA D-League).

they don't really have any other PGs worth talking about. Shumpert's more of a combo guard, and then they have Mike Bibby's remnants and an injured Baron Davis.

No. The Knicks were banking on Baron Davis to get healed and revive a career and Toney Douglas was playing (very poorly) out of position. Plus they were stinking it up against the Nets so D'Antoni was just about throwing in the towel.

Think about it, if the Knicks were a bit more competitive against the Nets, this guy would have never gotten a shot.

The NBA is the worst professional league for recognizing talent and giving players a shot. Horribly stupid coaches and GM's as well as cry baby superstars who love to pad their stats in garbage time. Throw on top of that some obvious bias and you get some very talented players sit on a bench and never get any meaningful opportunity in their career.

I would go ahead and trade Carmelo if I was the Knicks.

The only thing that bothers me is Coach is talking about no pressure to recruit this kid. Does that really matter? If he thought Lin was a player he should have recruited him. Miles certainly does with success.

Its still not even a legit miss to me, because he has played like 8 games, if that. Its starting to become a joke sort of.

thank you Carmelo Anthony

Isaw a Lin interview where he states that he really wanted a Stanfird offer, but he never got one. The real kIcker was his statement that the Stanford coach had pretty much lied to him about everything. Gives a little insight into our coach.

i remember sitting in the houston airport on my way home form christmas looking thru nba transactions and saw a little blurb about the knicks claiming lin. never thought it'd amount to this

and the interviewer may have asked trent if he felt pressure to recruit lin. i think ppl are reading a tad too much into that comment.

Trent Johnson addressed this and said that was false, that he never lied to him.

This is the biggest non-story. There are players much better than Lin that go unrecruited or barely recruited every year. The NBA and NFL are full of them.
