I have about 175 brood cows mostly brangus . Starting to cross breed with a charlais bull on a few and I am really liking the results. What do yall have and prefer when it comes to breed.

We used to have some, but let our neighbor run his o our property now.

I'm about to start running a few again. Not nearly as many as you though. Only got about 9 acres.

They are high as they have ever been right now. I need to sell out but I just can't pull the trigger. Honestly I work to support my cow habit.

I know what you mean with the cow habit. I grew up around livestock and it is enjoyable hard work. Any chance I get to work cattle I do it.

I had the tv on this morning and they had an auction for cattle. I only watched one sell, but it was a teenager that won a grand masters national title and the steer sold for $240k. He was going to use the money for tuition to TA&M. Made me look at cattle in a whole new light...

I love cross breeding and seeing what calves I get. There is money in it as long as you dont do it like me. My cows stay fat and probably live better than I do. I was just curious how many of you had cows and horses.

I'm thinking about getting one for my yard but am not sure how to build the cow tractor. Does anybody have plans for one?

Get a well trained border collie

Or get a rope, halter, and stake move around the yard daily.

I have chickens and turkeys, but can't bring myself to get cows. I know what will happen it will get a name and before long it will be a pet instead of what's for dinner.

So I do the best of both worlds, I have some guys near me that raise a herd of cows to feed their family. I let them have the hay off my pastures in exchange for a cow a year. It's a great deal for me, one less pasture to mow, and I eat good beef all the time!

I have 2 border collies. Best breed of dog in my book. One is about to pop with puppies, the other got cow kicked and broke his leg. If i would have had them today my arse wouldn't be quite as sore. Was cutting some calves out with my son and my billet strap broke ended up on my arse in the mud and have hurt ever since.
