The Wire: Best/Favorite Season?

Due to the search function sucking I'm creating a new thread about The Wire.
I've heard great things about this show, so I decided to give it a look. I'm only 6 episodes into the series, but I'm pretty hooked already. I'd just like to get everyone's opinion on their favorite season, character, and part of the show. I can't wait to see where the show goes from here.

Season 4.
Best character? Bubbles.
Best thing? Bodie's development. He might have more integrity than any other character on the show. He never violates his code of ethics. A man's gotta have a code.
"What the frick did I do?" -- An officemate and I constantly quote the Wire, and relate it to our jobs. This is our favorite, most used line.

Underrated Character: Pryzbylewski.
Favorite Part: Bodie and McNulty eating lunch. Also, even though it's ridiculous, McNulty's serial killer in season 6.

I've only watched it one time around and still feel like Season 2. I'm going to start the seasons again pretty soon after I finish catching up on Breaking Bad.

Currently rewatching and I'm 5 episodes in S2.... I remember both seasons 3 and 4 as being the best. Favorite character is Brother Malzhan (sp?)...can't lock down a favorite moment without spoilers

I am so partial to season 1. I loved all the seasons, but I watched season 1 again over the past few months On Demand and just realized how groundbreaking it was and how hooked I was only after the 1st episode. I just thought no one has kept it that real on an HBO show yet and that included Oz and Sopranos. It's really tough to pick one really, but I'd just say season one simply for the way it completely hooked me and how disappointed I was when it ended the first time and again a few weeks ago when I finished it again.
