Stop trying to be reasonable with some of the people on this board today. Tomorrow they will be back on The Rant and this board will be peaceful once again.

meh.

there is a correlation to team recruiting rankings and national titles won.

you will get a sleeper every now and then but it is better to sign bluechippers than hope 2 and 3 stars will turn out to be hidden gems.

"I think LSU had the #1 ranked class... until they signed me" Jacob Hester

We didn't get every single recruit we wanted, but the players we did get are good players and keep the LSU train rolling.

What's sad is that we could win 13 games next year and 12 the year after --- exceed our all time back to back success and STILL some/many would find a way to bitch and moan. Don't even mention championships.... SEC and National Championships are NOT easy to win... winning even 1 every few years is historically a very signicant task.... and we are doing that now - winning and performing at the highest level.

Remember a couple of years ago when Florida had a monster class like Alabama this year. What happened to FLorida and that class?

totally irrelevant. This is not about our staff and their ability to identify diamonds in the rough like Claiborne and TM7.

This is about our staff identifying elite talent like Kiel, Collins, Davis, Miller and not being able to get them signed up.

Makes no difference if you are I think those guys are 5* or 2* what DOES matter is our staff wanted them, did not get them and had to move lower on THEIR board for kids like Liggins and Thompson or get no one to replace a kid like Davis who projects at DE.

It's not about stars it's about the staff not being able to get the kids that they rated high.

That is THE issue.

Think about Mo Claiborne and Honey Badger.... Not 5 star players there either.

Did anyone hear Herbstreit (AKA-Turdstreet) talking about Okie St, Stanford and Boise St recruiting classes?

Also Meyer always tore it up recruiting for UF. What happened to those players this year?

Don't get me wrong, I want all the 5 star players we can get but a 5 star player comes with no assurances.

Hester once said that LSU would have had the #1 class that year if he hadn't brought the team ranking down.

No offense to Jacob, I loved him, but he was one in a hundred. His situation does not apply to 99% of the 2 and 3 star players.

Why do y'all immediately blame the staff? Sometimes it's the kids and their indecisiveness or maybe there's other factors that come into play (family, girlfriend, friends, etc). Some of the time it's out of the staff's hands.
