New England has played 2 teams with a winning record - New York Giants and Pittsburgh, they lost to both of them.

Sure they beat some 8-8 teams Oakland, Dallas, NYJ and Denver.

This team has failed when tested by good opponents. Their defense is not good.

Baltimores loses came in games they fell asleep and played down to the level of their competition - Tennessee, Jacksonville, Seattle, and San Diego.

When faced with good opponents Pittsburgh, Houston, Cincinnati and San Fran the Ravens came out on top every time.

Ravens will win this Sunday.

Glad to hear your opinion.

So let me get this straight, its better to lose to really shitty teams than top tier competition?

Neither is Flacco.

And Brady isn't TJ Yates. Baltimore was thoroughly outplayed by Houston, but was the beneficiary of a 5th round rookie QB and the walking screw-up that is Jacoby Jones.

Brady is locked in.

New England by 14 or more.

The Pats have 2 wins over playoff teams.. both against the Broncos.. they played 2 others, NYG and the Steelers, and lost to both as mentioned.

There aren't a lot of Ravens fans in SC or on this board but I'll make an internet bet with anyone that the Ravens will win this Sunday. Sig/Avi bet, self-ban bet for X amount of time or whatever.

You realize they lost to the Giants with 15 sec left right? It's not like they got blown out.

We've also been very injured on that side of the ball, and the loss of Chung was killing us (Our safeties are probably the worst in the league, and it really affected the corners too).

They've been doing some interesting things of late, including putting McCourtey at FS and dropping Chung into SS.

Houston has a really good defense though. NE's is terrible. Torrey Smith will run wild on that secondary

New England < Pittusburgh < Denver < New England

I don't see how it matters.

I'll take two long bombs to Torre Smith for stopping the running game.

The question is, can Baltimore score 27+ points?

So you're saying the minimum NE will score on the Ravens is 27ish?

you could say this makes Baltimore more overrated than New England. it is by far more sound logic.

however i dont think either is overrated. I think we'll see a great game.

Sure. You best believe they are going to run no huddle with Branch/Welker/A-Hern/Gronk/Edleman and tire that defense out. They have no one to matchup with either Welker, A-Hern, or Gronk (Reed could cover the first two, but isn't used that way on a general basis). I expect Terrell Suggs to be double teamed on almost every play (he was probably the best DE in the league).

FWIW Baltimore scored over 27 6 times, mostly against better defenses than what NE has. Ground and pound Ray Rice, kill the clock thus limiting Brady's possessions, and get in the endzone.

The Interweb bet is still on the table.

Shhh....

Clearly, the Patriots are an invincible juggernaut. The Ravens have no chance against the model for NFL success: great offense paired with a shoddy defense.

Conspiracy theory here but NOBODY wants to see this matchup again. I see some strange calls being possible???

New England is the only team that makes the Super Bowl watchable to non gamblers and non hardcore football people like me.

Patriots - 24
Ravens - 21

I think this is going to be a great game.
