Impact their lives?

Recruiting is a big part of college football, I get it... but dang the Freak Out over the Landon Collins committment to Alabama and now this possible Gunner Keil to ND.

Don't freak people... it's ok --- we are stacked at DB and have seemingly 2 or 3 QBs on the roster now. Which gives us 2 - 3 years to find another QB.... there's a #1 QB in every recruiting class.

This kid was always a LONG shot for LSU and I never really got why he committed to LSU in the first place... it just never seemed like the right "fit" from my perspective.

I'm sure not going to lose any sleep over recruting.

It really doesn't bother me.
I do hate that by Keil waiting to the last minute to change his mind, he cost us a good O-lineman.

That is if this rumor stuff is true.

not the point....if this is true the family should have told the coaches or someone their decision...so far nothing has been said by family

unfortunately the whims of 18 year olds will dictate the success of our football team in years to come

I do agree with that --- but then again... we'll survive either way.

Can we lose out on recruits we want year in and year out.... no, certainly not... but so long as our recruiting classes are Top 20 --- we'll be competitive and if we land those Top 5 classes, so much the better.

Regardless.... Nothing to freak out about.

It's just been a shitty week for my 2 main teams. The one bright spot that kept me going since last monday was knowing we had the #1 QB recruit in the nation coming to BR.

i was excited about gunner because he presented a ray of light to a position we've been horrible at for the last 4 years. losing him like this sucks.

Who is Landon Collins?

I guess I am mature enough since I don't follow the drama of 18 year olds trying to decide on a school (or "offer" in the case of unnamed schools 2 states to the right of Louisiana).

Not sure IF serious.... if you are on the Recruiting Board now and don't know about the big Under Armour game fiasco....

I'm not sure if that's mature or "uninformed" --- but kudos for the joke if you are simply saying Landon Who?

I was joking. I check in here every now and then to get a feel of how recruiting is going.

Obviously I am not mature enough but I am in in the process of having a paradigm shift as we speak so I can cope in the future. :)

I'm not ... and I'm not worried about "stars" either ... Hester was a 2 *. And I read an old thread brought back about Mo -- this board (well the recruiting board) didn't even want that kid.

So, NO ... I myself am not losing sleep over any of it.

I hate this pulling out the hat crap and kids not feeling that their word means anything. I don't see where getting emotionally tied up in this thing makes a lot of sense.

whatever happens....happens. frankly, I found it funny that the Mettenberger era ended with some fans as soon as this Keil kid committed. the domers are probably throwing money, jobs, scholarships to friends and family and a call from the 'other hat' at the Keil family and the kid is just mindfricked right now. if he has the integrity and values he was reported to have he will honor his commitment. if not....c'est la vie.

we have Mett, Randel and Rivers on campus....in the system and tugging on their bits. we do not lack qb talent but if we lost Miller because of this....then, I am officially pissed.

Everyone on this board is very immature, myself included, and should strive to be more like you.
