Who's with me?

Ole Miss W 1-0
Alabama L 1-1
-------------
@Arkansas W 2-1
Auburn W 3-1
@Florida L 3-2
@Miss St L 3-3
Kentucky L 3-4
Arkansas W 4-4
@Vanderbilt L 4-5
Alabama W 5-5
Miss St L 5-6
@South Carolina W 6-6
Georgia W 7-6
@Ole Miss W 8-6
Tennessee W 9-6
@Auburn L 9-7

If they win two in the tourney, they'll finish at 21-12 and will NOT get in the NCAA tournament, but with a recruit or two, this team will be a top 25 squad next season!

It is possible, but we'll need to play great. 8-8, 7-9 is more likely.

A good scorer would really make us a very good team.

JOB is out several more weeks (I think something like 3-6).

I'm not sure about 9-7, but I could buy the good fortune for next year's team

We really don't. We need to take better care of the basketball, keep Storm out of foul trouble, and make a few shots (i.e. what we did the first half of the season...)

Already at 1-1

Assumed losses:
Kentucky, @Florida, @Vanderbilt

Assumed wins:
Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee (all at home)

Really need to (and can) wins:
@Ole Miss, @ Auburn, @ South Carolina

Goddammit I want to win:
Alabama (home)

Splits:
MSU, Arkansas

Take our assumed losses, get our assumed wins, get our assumed splits (and lose to Bama at home
) and you finish 9-7. Improve on anything (beat Vandy, beat Alabama at home, get better than a split out of State OR Arkansas), and the season looks even better.

That's a TOTALLY achievable outcome.

That absolutely can be done. Depends a lot on JOB coming back and playing well. We don't lose much as far as starting with him out, but we lose a lot of depth. Storm fouls too much.

TJ originally said 6-8 weeks, but you know medicine today. plus, it was a very minor break.

I agree. we already have a 3-star instate SG commitment. Plus, we only lose (2) Seniors that are worth a shite (Storm and White). Bass has improved this year but has still been a complete bust. With TJ's defensive mind and the bigs continuing to improve (specificaly J Ham), this team can certainly continue to be a force. Playing in the SEC costs us RPI rank, so even if we pull off a 10-6 sec record with 2 wins in the tourney, I still have to doubt a ncaa bid. they say the sec will get 5 or 6 bids this year, but i'm thinking 5 is a stretch when selection comes.

nonetheless, this season is a vast improvement from the last 2 seasons, and i think all the TJ nay-sayers are starting to realize that he's a very good coach.

**Possible to win 11 but I don't think we beat Arkansas away. They are really good at home. We can double up Ole Miss amd Auburn IMO and can pull some games from the east. The last 5-7 games are all very winnable so even if we lost some early in the SEC season the end is nice for us.

I had 11 wins for my first prediction, but i thought that was just too many!

Its easy to chalk up 3 losses coming from Vandy, Uk, and UF but I think we steal one from Florida on the road...they have not impressed me lately.

Even with Arkansas being on the road this Saturday, I think (more like hope) the team rebounds nicely and beats them.

The big question: Would the committee even consider a 21-12 (9-7)LSU team? (that includes two SEC tourney wins)

No time for an in-depth, but I'm predicting that 9-7 is underestimating. Aside from last night, I see us being scary SEC competition. We'll have early surprises, and then we'll topple those trying to steal our thunder

I agree. I just don't want to get my hopes up on this relatively young team. They might lose a couple that they just absolutely should not lose.

But certainly 10-6 or 11-5 is atttainable.

Like I said, just looking at the schedule I had them down for 11 wins originally...I'd just rather be conservative for now given their 5-27 SEC record over the past two seasons.

I haven't been impressed with Florida wither, but I am not sure on the road. I definitely don't think any game can already by chalked up as a L so Im hopeful in every game. Florida will be one I am hipeful for.

I think 10-6 is easily attainable here, I'm not sure Auburn can hang with the depth of this team (even at home). If we pull off an upset or two we are suddently looking at a 12-4 team in the SEC.
