What could be the reason to stick with a inept QB, considering we had other options?

Best chance to win the game?
Most experienced QB?

Because JJ has pictures of Miles with a chicken.

JJ never ate the piece of pie Les was saving in the office fridge.

Two reasons:

1) Stubbornness

2) Poor judgment. Les has repeatedly shown his penchant for making a whopper of a bad decision every so often (hiring of Crowton, hiring of Malloveto, time management, etc)

Best reason? JJ had some success Bama in the past. Even though JL is the better passer Les thought JJ's legs would win out.

Because obviously something happened between Miles and Lee. We dont know what it is quite yet, but it will come out eventually.

IMO, could be a couple of things, some of which have been mentioned.

OL was shaky. Thought JL would be killed dropping back.

Something happened with JL that noboday's talking about, and Les was stubbord.

Thought that he knew what he was doing, and thought wrong.

Missed his opportunity when Lee was warming up during the third.

Just pure stubborn.

Just a wild-arse guess here, but the lack of a game plan made me wonder whether Les just thought his team was so good, they could just go out there and beat anyone. If that's the case, he drank some kook-aid. There was no plan that I saw on Les's part. What other reason could there be?

Lee was never going to play.

There was a fallout between not just Lee and Miles, but Lee and the team. Not necessarily any collection of individuals on the team, but on the team as a whole. Maybe the class rumors were true, maybe it was something else. However, it was clear that Lee was never going in that game. Miles was not going to play him.

In my opinion, based off of Miles' character, Lee didn't deserve to be in the game as a result of something he did. Something that was more important than winning and losing. Some sort of selfish act that could have been a betrayal to the team. Would Saban have played Lee? You know it. But Miles is Miles, and he's going to do things his way. It's his program. And I love him for that.

Miles proved by not playing T-Bob and Shepard that he wasn't playing favorites. If Lee didn't see the field, there was a behind-the-scenes reason for it. Maybe Miles was actually protecting Lee by not releasing this reason. I guess we'll never really know for sure. Miles did what he thought was right, and that is the one thing that I won't question. Not about this man.

ETA: "It was fair that he finish." - Miles on Jefferson regarding the Jefferson/Lee situation.

That's a very telling quote to me.

I think the 2008 season may have psychologically affected Les as much as it did JL.

I forgot to say that maybe he was scared that JL would throw an immediate pick 6 and make a bad thing worse.

IMO, JL is not that guy now that he was then. Get the defenders down field waiting to pick him off, then run.

Maybe because JL is really not as good as JJ? Maybe both JJ and JL are bad QBs? It's over, move on!
