Michigan State fans are still pissed off at Nick Saban 12 years later

The OP brought up Saban in regards to paying their assistants more money and many of the posters responded by absolutely unloading on Saban. I don't understand how so many fanbases can hold a grudge against one man for so long.

quote:

You barely hit the nail on its' side.

Saban is and was a whore. Total whore.

Yeah it read well to lead with $ for assistants, facilities, blah blah blah

Wake me when coach D grandstands for these things- then whores out to the highest bidder every 3 years.

Failed analogy. Saban is a twat and always will be. Eff that he'd have stayed if assistants etc were paid. Utter horseshite

We finished top 15 on the field, earned top 17 in revenue. Stfu about the rest and pay to keep our current staff in tact.

frick saban

quote:

Seems like quite a stretch to compare todays' situation with the Saban situation. Nick looked after number one, himself, with every situation. He came out of that situation looking like an arse. And no matter how successful he is, (and he is a damn good coach) he will always have the stigma of being a selfish, greedy prick.

quote:

Bingo. You just destroyed this thread. Apparently Saban is now a martyr for his subordinates. The motherfricker wouldn't stay at LSU, wouldn't stay in the NFL and if he wasn't so fricking old he prolly would have bolted from Bama by now.

Saban's a great coach who really didn't do shite here and never wanted to be here anyway. We finally have a guy at the helm with a tremendous amount of integrity. I'm extremely confident going forward that this program will thrive regardless of staff departures as long as Dantonio's skippering the ship.

quote:

The improvements were also coming, and have come, with more on the way.

Nick was a whiny little bitch who no one liked playing for.

Every year he was at State, he held MSU hostage with NFL coaching talk. Never would deny he was a front runner. For all his open crying about how hard it was to recruit against um, nd & osu, his own crap was the thing most used against MSU on the rectruiting trail- "ehy play for a guy on the way out, he's not committed to MSU, and you shouldn't be either."

He admits he instantly regretted the decision on the plane, and still does, as MSU was the place to build something real.

His love for his assistants was so great, not one joined him at LSU.

quote:

The scar isn't letting a carpetbagging whore doing what a carpetbagging whore does. The scar is putting a clueless running backs coach in the big seat. The whole point is the shitty prologue is the past to the Dantonio era. Who got poached from Saban's 6-6 staff the year before he bolted? We're only in this situation because Dantonio's won 11 games for the ONLY 2 frickING times in MSU history.

quote:

This might be the biggest load of crap ever posted on this board. Not one of $aban's assistants went with him to LSU. Every single one stayed on with BW. If $$$ were the issue for those assistants, why didn't they go to LSU with Nick? $$$$ were an issue with only one guy. And he's been chasing them ever since. Get a clue.

quote:

Let me set the record straight for the zillionth time why $aban left MSU. As those of you old enough to remember, after his third year here when he was having some real success, his name was constantly floated for every NFL head coaching opening. Why? Because his agent Jimmy Sexton was actively shopping him around trying to get him an NFL head coaching job. This was frankly becoming embarrassing and McPherson told $aban he either publicly states he won't leave MSU for the pros, or he would be looking for another job. You will all of course remember that $aban finally said that in public. From that day, he was going to leave MSU at the first chance. LSU was desperate, and what a surprise, slick Nick then ends up with Dolphins a few years later. What he wanted all the time. So there you have it kids. This is what happened. Stop blaming everyone and anyone for the greed and ambition and utter lack of loyalty that $aban has always shown.

quote:

bingo bullwrinkle....my god some of these people in this thread have a short memory. I'll NEVER forget when he was boo'd at the 99' home opener. I remember it like it was yesterday: I turned to by buddy as he was boo'd on the new scoreboard (at the time) and said: "this will be Saban's last season here". He went 10-2 and left before the bowl game.
Sure it had to do with money, but even before that he let it be WELL known he had bigger fish to fry. ( no pun intended as a dolphin is indeed a mammal)

He was and is an arrogant, shitty little man who happens to be one HELL of a coach...they love him at bama as long as he wins. I wouldn't be shocked if he beat LSU and goes somewhere else.....IF and only if they'll pay him more and put up with his county attitude. Dude is a mercenary...straight up.

Oh they certainly do for the moment. That will change though. Brady and Urbs are going to steamroll them. Theyll be out back in their proper spot soon enough.

When Michigan is good, even Saban can't win at MSU.

newsflash dude. fans don't like it when their coach leaves them and goes elsewhere. lsu fans don't like saban and he didn't even leave lsu for bama. i have a neighbor who is an okie lite alum and he hates les miles because he left for lsu. duh. you trying to deflect and gloat is pathetic. you are certainly forgetting that bama wasn't shite before saban came and may not be shite after he leaves.

Sometimes I think Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones used their memory eraser from "Men In Black" on the state of LA in 2003.

ETA. Or maybe this site is just full of 10 year old LSU fans.

yea, it seems mike price, shula, francioni were conveniently forgotten. you've had one good coach since the bear died and he resigned under the black cloud of shame. i guess rewriting history is a hobby for you gumps. do you remember getting caught paying recruits? i'll say it again. bama wasn't shite before saban (and after the bear).

MSU fans seem to not realize they are, in fact, MSU. And not worth a damn. That's not a job to keep.

Yet in probably the worst 25 year stretch in Alabama football history (between Bryant and Saban) Bama won more national championship and SEC championships than LSU.
