Trying to decide between the novas/supernovas or an 870/887 for duck hunting. Right now I am leaning towards the 887 because of its durability.

Any others out there worth looking at? Any suggestions are appreciated.

870 all day long. I haven't heard enough about the 887 to comment on it, but you can't beat an 870 in terms of durability.

Why is the BPS better than the other two?

I have an 887 and love it. Even my brother who is a purest and thinks that anything made after 1985 is yuppie garbage said he might steal it from me. He hunts with an 870.

I find the BPS is smoother than the other 2. Plus I like the way it ejects from the bottom.

But between the guns mentioned, I'd go with the Remington.

Bottom eject, safety location and smoother action.

I love my 870 wingmaster and express x2. I would buy a BPS though. Great gun.

Same for me. Own all 3 & would agree with this. Love my BPS! Can't really go wrong with either of the 3.
