It was even more impressive. He was involved in the first 21 points for LSU. First the TD return in the first half, second the fumble he recovered at the beginning of the second half which led to the 2nd LSU TD 2 plays later, and right after that came his second return that led to LSU's 3rd TD for a 21-10 lead.

That's right. I forgot that.

I was thinking the 2nd return set up the go-ahead TD

To say this abt a player who plays primarily defense and only sees the ball a couple times a game, coupled with the fact that we've only trailed a handful of times all year, yes it is truly remarkable.

I'm still in awe. How does he do it? I watch him perform, I see it live, but I just don't understand how he makes so much happen on the football field.

He's undersized at 5'9", 175 lbs, appears a tad bit slow but he still out physicals guys much bigger than him, out runs defenders and runs toe to toe with opposing WRs.

A few attributes that I do know is that he is deceptive. He has incredible spacial awareness. He has the best anticipatory skills of any football player at any level that I can remember which makes him an incredible closer at the point of contact. And he does have fantastic "hips" for the DB position. Oh, and his technique (tackling) seems perfect.

Wow. That stat should have been front and center in any Heisman talk about TM.

Herbie or somebody was mentioning this before the Heisman ceremony. He said that it wasn't so much what Mathieu has done but when he's done it. He has made the big plays when we needed them most.

I've never gotten as excited to watch a single player step on the field as I do when TM7 walks out. They kid is so good and such an important port of this team, that it's hard to convey it in words. I try describing him to all the Texas fans out here and they don't get it, until I show them a highlight video.
I showed our Lawyer at work the video on Lesmiles.net and he was speechless, seriously. The guy looked at me and said "holy shite, that kid is sick".
TM7 is a special player in every aspect. He plays with a tenacity that it unmatched. He has amazing awareness on the field that separates him from every other player out there. I don't know how he does it, but I sure am proud to be witnessing it.

I dread the day the leaves LSU because I love watching him play here. I don't know how he'll match up at the next level, it's a different game. If anyone has the talent, heart, mental toughness, and desire to overcome the challenge though, it's Tyrann. There's no way he won't be great in the NFL too.
