If you were a head football coach or OC at any level, what offense would you run? For the sake of argument lets say you don't know your personel/not positioned to a particular team yet.

If I had my choice- probably spread because that was the first offense I learned in HS and i love it

It really depends though. High school level I would run triple option unless I had insane athletes to run spread. Id have the local peewee squad learning the triple option so that youd always have a base to get kids for the system.

College Id probably go Spread because I love spread but if I had good defensive personel Id go with the LSU approach and win games that way. Also it would depend what conference i was in, Id run spread anywhere else except the SEC

Only a terrible coach tries to force personnel into his system.

Interesting...you would run it as your base offense?

Agreed to some extent, but every coach has an offense they prefer and obviously once they get a job they look at personnel and decide what's best for what they have.

I tend to agree with you. It really does depend on the situation but I seem to like the balanced attack out of the spread. But at the high school level if you can perfect the wing-t or any variation of the triple option then you can win games

Yeah in HS, you can run an option attack with little to no talent (First hand expeirence) or a ton of talent because the defenses are usually very undisiplined and how it works is so simple.

If Im tryin to build a HS "program" then option is deffinitly the way to go

I am the OC of a middle school team and we run hurry up no huddle out of a Nevada style pistol.

Alot of inside power runs, speed option, and play action pass

Here is a highlight video of my team this past season. Mostly offense

Pro style. Best offense is one that lines up in the I nd runs the friggen ball down their opponents throat.

Learn the Wing-T or the Veer option and you can apply its principles to any level or system you choose.

Depends on my defense.

If its good, then ball control. I want a decent pass offense, but want to grind the clock.

If I have a bad defense, then I would go with the spread where I know I can put points on the board. It puts the defense on the field more, but hopefully I can overcome that with offense.

Easy, flexbone triple option.
No matter if I was coaching 1A HS ball or LSU

the oopty oop

In college I'd go with a pro-style featuring 65% power running, with deep shots mixed in.

Air Raid aka Mike Leach. At the college level the pro style simply doesn't work anymore unless you have an Andrew Luck/Kellen Moore level quarterback and/or a top 5 OL

Yeah I bet you want Michigan to go back to spread right?

That was just plain ignorant. Bama in 09 was pro style.
