You couldn't make the title "Any commitments not going to make the grades?"....

Honestly, you might get more help if people knew what this thread was about before having to click it.

There are a couple of candidates for both academic issues and greyshirting. I will not name kids that might have academic issues because it's not fair to the kids and the info isn't airtight. Greyshirting candidates can be speculated on by anyone since very few people would know who has had talks with the coaches about it. It's too early as well. We don't know that we'll need anyone to greyshirt. A couple of purely speculative candidates are Granier(injury, depth at position in the class) and Ferguson(his position is not usually a scholarship position).

As long as we're speculating, mine is that Ferguson is the first true Freshman to hit the field next year -- and in the first game. Coach Miles' investment in special teams specialists, has paid huge dividends.

Yea our LS is gone after this year so Ferg will not be a greyshirt candidate. Probably won't even redshirt either.

I'm just trying to count the number of recruits we can now possibly sign...that's all I'm trying to figure out...names aren't important at this point...I'm just trying to fiigure who we're not going to be able to sign because slots are getting fewer by the day!

I know nothing about the academic situation of the recruits. Usually the Advocate writes which of their top 24 recruits are academically qualified later this month, and that includes all of the in-state guys.

I realize you might not want to give names of players with grade risks, but could you say a) how many there are? b) If they are some of the high end recruits and c) If they still have a chance of qualifying?

We've only lost two guys in the past 5 classes (Benton and Alonzo Lewis), so the staff has been good with targeting eligible guys. That being said, I can think of 5-10 guys who took until the last minute to get cleared.
