Got to be honest, I didn't think it was anywhere close to Little Chinatown in terms of both quality and service.

I'll stick to Little Chinatown for Chinese in the metro area.

Did you see Young's in the Ten Best Kenner restaurants thread? Those who doubt such lists do so at their own peril.

I personally love Young's; I've been going there for years. Going to Little Chinatown either tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll report back.

Yes. That's why I tried it.

Chinatown > Young's

The only thing I don't like about Chinatown is the egg rolls

Everything else there is solid. You'll get better services there as well IMO

I'm looking for some authentic stuff. I plan on trying the congee, goat stew pot, and intestine with xo sauce.

I haven't tried any of those. I tried the beef stew pot. Really good but really fatty.

Definitely an obscene portion as well. You could easily split it.

I've tried the following there:

Wonton and roasted duck noodle soup
Peking Pork Chop
Salt Toasted Pork Chop
Singapore Mei Fun
Curry Chicken

All were pretty solid IMO

If you like your food spicy ask for the chili sauce

ETA: I really like their fried pot stickers there as well. One time they were a little overcooked but they were still good. Nice and crispy.

I've heard good things about the blackened short ribs pot so I might get that also. Looking forward to it!

I've read mixed reviews about it, but more positive than negative. I guess I'll soon find out!

Yeah, it's my favorite but the last three times the General chicken has been off.

I don't know, I've been moving away from take out anyway. Used to be the best in the area, I still need to try your place as its on my side of the I10.

Wait, better than an old lady saying "Hello, Goodbye, Hello, Hello" over and over?
We used to call mama, Mogwai lady, because she always says something that sounds like mogwai. Then they give you hot towels and oranges when you are done...

Honestly I've been eating there for twenty years, and have only dined in maybe four times. It's a good take out spot, service is probably lacking.

That's what I ordered today. Meh...

Too sweet and not enough heat for my taste

exactly, it used to be much hotter, I mean really hot and not as sweet. They changed it up in the last few months. I usually ask sauce on the side and then add Sirachi to it, but it should come right.

It was so much better before they re-opened after the fire.

I would rank them Trey yuen (mandeville), little chintown, dim sum at the panda place next to hong kong, and royal china.

Cafe east used to be up there but recently I feel them slipping.
