Everyone who lives near Kenner should have an opinion on this topic. If you were to rate the top ten restaurants in Kenner, what would your list look like and why?

1) Ristorante da Piero - hands down the best pure Italian in NOLA. Prices are high, but the atmosphere is delightful and the service exceptional.

2) Harbor Seafood - Harbor has mastered the light frying method. Doesn't matter if you're getting the fish, shrimp or oysters. They are always fried lightly and deliciously. The prices can't be beat so expect to wait and wait a long time. That's the only downside.

3) Thanh Truc Bistro - A newly opened Vietnamese palace in Kenner. They do all their baking there, and it's all good. The restaurant is clean and fun. The service down to earth and nice. The food pretty standard, but anything that included baked goods, like their poboys, are delish.

4) Mr. Ed's - Average age of diners is about 55 and the Kenny G music blows. But for what it is - a good NOLA neighborhood restaurant - the prices are still moderate and the quality solid.

5) Kenner Seafood - Quintessential NOLA seafood. The daily specials make the wallet and taste buds sing.

6) Mi Pueblito - I recently ate here and would you believe it if I said this is the best Latin food in NOLA? I got the oven roasted pork with sweet plantains. For under $10, it might have been the best value for taste I can recall. Clean restaurant with friendly staff.

7) Williams Seafood & Po-Boy - A small hole in the strip mall where seafood poboys are done well and cheaply. I got the large oyster, which had a dozen, for just $9.95. The bread tastes like Vietnamese poboy bread. It's all good. Definitely the most underrated, unknown quality poboy shop in NOLA.

8) Smitty's - When Smitty's is on, you can't find better boiled seafood outside of The Crap Trap. Prices are higher than they should be and the wait can be long, but another classic Kenner seafood haven.

9) Celina's - A remarkably clean Latin supermarket is the main draw here, but if you peak on over to the side, you'll find a skinny aisle of tables. Little English is spoken, but much Latin flavor is given.

10) Adela's - A quiet, clean, and fun Latin restaurant that brings the wood.

Williams Seafood po boys are nothing special and is not even close to any good po boy shop in the area. I wish they would serve fried rice with the grilled seafood platters but they are not allowed to b/c of the Red Apple in the same strip center. Ive eating everything on the menu there it's ok but doesn't compare to some of the area's top places. Best item is the Pho when they have it.

Have you tried the Pho at the place that is next to Mr. Ed's?

Prices are high

I didn't have a complaint with the prices

The pasta dishes are large enough to split as a starter with 2 people. Same for the Caprese salad.

2 could dine for under 100 if you don't order wine

Compare their prices with a place like eleven79 and they look like a steal

I went there a few weeks ago and got the lemongrass chicken for lunch. I haven't tried the Pho yet. I'll be sure to get it next time I make it there.

1.) Ristorante da Piero - It deserves the high ratings it gets, high-end Italian, but done really well

2.) Young's Garden, probably not the best, but seeing as I eat there almost weekly its high on my list.

3.) Kenner Seafood - probably the best place for fried seafood in the metro area

4.) Norma's Bakery - they don't speak english, but have the best Cuban sandwiches around

5.) Mi Pueblito - very good Latin food, Kenner has many choices in latin foods and this one is really good.

6.) Brick Oven Cafe - Really good Pizzas and mid range Italian food

7.) The Landing - It can be hit or miss, but sometimes I get some really good steaks from there. Very inexpensive for aged meat.

9.) Taquiera Chillangos Madrid - Another really good asian spot, also a good place to pick up day laborers as its across from Home Depot.

10.) Fat Molly's - a new place off Williams, has good pizzas and other American food.

The 24 butterflied fried shrimp with salad and side for 11.95 on Tues and Thurs at Kenner Seafood is one of the best deals in all of America.

The fine folks in Kenner let the best restaurant ever there go out of business because it was too good for most of them. The few gourmet folks would rather go into the city.

Pelicano was the name of the place on Williams. Damn fine place.

Btw, your list is pretty good.

Good enough to satisfy a Vietnamese craving if you're in the area. The pho is pretty average compared to other places in the metro area, but convenience keeps me going back.

I went to an amazing Italian restaurant in Kenner once about 7 or 8 years ago. For the life of me, I don't remember the name or exactly where it was.

There is surprisingly good food in Kenner mixed in with all of the chains. It is a lot like Baton Rouge or Houston in that respect. Just have to know where to look.

I think the point of this list was not to list chains, plus technically Bud's broiler is in Metaire not Kenner.

This place doesn't seem to have anyone in it. I will be surprised if it sticks around, that location has had numerous failures. Mr. Ed's is real busy but I think it is just ok. I would hit up Zea's instead. Cafe Taromina on Williams has good sandwiches and panini's for lunch.

It's not exactly the most noticeable place despite being in a decent area
