I am writing a paper for school about the whole 'pay-to-play' scheme and I wanted some real world examples it in. Thought I would give a break from the TM7 holding, Saban vs. Miles, punt hitting guide-wire, threads.

Are you going to cite tiger droppings? You might try calling up the athletic office about this.

I'll just cite LSUsports.net or something.

Thanks for the insight Spurrier. Not sure if serious.

Really? I thought each player got about $40 a week or something. All seems really high to me.

I give each scholarship player $75,000 per year. I give the walk-ons $50k to $60k, depending on what the coaches say.

(Uhh, but I don't think I'm supposed to talk about - it's sort of 'hush-hush')

Nice pickup on Spurriers' idea. Paying NCAA players, or getting caught paying them, is illegal. Are you referring to expense money?

BTW: It is common for players to find cash in their goody bags received at bowl games.

No stipend. A Fleshlight and a hollowed-out Marucci bat filled with candy corn and heroin and a bumper sticker.

Just for the record I am totally against 'pay-for-play'. I just want an example that players are basically getting paid when they get a stipend and that it's ridiculous to pay them more.

Offically? Nothing I think.

Unofficially? I am pretty sure there are "letters from home" that appear in lockers.
