What was the outside view of the LSU/Bama game?

As a fan of SEC football I just really don't understand how someone could possibly call that boring football.

This had to have been the most intense, hard hitting, anxious, gut wrenching game I might have ever seen.

I thought it was so exciting simply because points were so impossibly hard to come by. Both offenses were off, but it's not just coincidence they were both playing top 3 defenses in the entire country. Ill take this over a shoot out any day.

That was truly grown man football.

Yea, but touchdowns are satisfying. Gives you a mental sense of completion.

As good as both defenses were the quarterback play was pathetic

All the NFL games I watched today used it as an example as how football should be played.

I thought it was good but not orgasmic. I don't understand how you can't score more than 9 points at home yet people think you should get another shot though.

It was great at first, but the QBs were so bad that the playcalling naturally became incredibly predictable and vanilla

One of the best games I've seen in a long long time.

Both teams have hung about 40 on just about everyone they've played this season, except each other. Just more proof as to how athletic and dominant both defenses are.

I agree if I didn't have a rooting interest it would have been a disappointing game to watch and I love defensive battles. It just seemed the defenses weren't stopping anything that was particularly hard to stop

Both quarterbacks were so bad partly because the defenses are that good and are so good at deceiving the opposing offense.

They've both been dominant on offense all year. That just shows how good the defenses were.

As a non LSU fan but a fan of good football, it was a very good game. People love to see points but the fact is that those 2 defenses are so much better than everyone else that points are hard to come by and coaches won't gamble much with trick plays or things that can put you in a big hole in a game like that. I've been at field level for one of LSU's games this year and their speed is unbelievable. Bama pretty much matched them all night defensively. If you want to watch scoring fest with no defense, watch the Big 12 but if you want to watch top teams watch the SEC.

Bad special teams, horrible QB play and poor coaching by bama did not show dominance

I liked the game but outsiders I know found it boring.

From the West Coast: Chris Dufresne

No. 1 LSU wins 'Game of the Century' — but which century is it?

Alabama is really good and LSU, at least on this night, was a little better.

But was it worthy of a rematch in the Bowl Championship Series title game?

Heavens no, who wants to see five more field goals?

The punting was fantastic. The star of the game was field position.

After a short play on first down, though, Saban decided to run out the clock and play for overtime. It was a smarter play, he reasoned, than risking a costly turnover.

What national championship team can't trust its quarterback to lead a last-minute drive?

How could a game ever live up to such hype? It couldn't, ultimately, but it tried.

Army and Notre Dame were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in 1946 and played to a scoreless tie.

At least this game made some points.

I thought it was okay honestly - the QBs were bad despite the great defense.

This tweet was funny.

"The only people who want a rematch of this crappy overrated football game are the parents of Alabama's (long and short) kickers."

Both defenses are obviously really good but I think most people from the outside probably watched the game and saw two bad offenses and thats what they will take away from the game.

I personally dont see why anyone would want to watch a rematch. I agree with the Alabama fans in that they probably are the 2nd best team in the country, hell they may even be the best, I just dont think the general public would want to watch that.

I for one want to see Boise play LSU in the NCG. I dont understand why people want to watch stanford or okst play LSU. What is exciting about that matchup? I would much rather watch Boise prove that they belong amongst the big dogs or get there shite pushed in and finally end this whole charade with them.
