I for one want to see Boise play LSU in the NCG. I dont understand why people want to watch stanford or okst play LSU. What is exciting about that matchup?

At this point for me...it's either Luck vs. SEC defense or Boise State vs. the SEC (and others schedule obsessed.)

Those two are the only interesting story lines. I could care less about another Big 12 team getting beaten by an SEC team or Bama/LSU kicking more field goals.

I think most people from the outside probably watched the game and saw two bad offenses and thats what they will take away from the game.
I don't understand this considering what both offenses have done to everyone else all year.

I knew both offenses weren't bad, but the QB play was noticeably bad to me last night. Both defenses are obviously top notch, but I don't think the interceptions were attributed to that. I just thought they were awful throws.

For anyone watching the Ravens vs Steelers right now, this is considered the best rivalry in the NFL and almost always plays out like this.

It was like watching an NFL game for reals. Ive lost count on how many times LsU Bama has been referenced by NfL announcers today

FWIW there aren't that many low scoring NFL games. Even the first game the Ravens and Steelers played this year wasn't low scoring.

For those saying the QBs were awful, keep in mind that both have been pretty darn efficient in every other game except this one. They looked exposed for a reason. And that reason was nobody was open because the secondaries were so good.

Great defensive battle but both teams played like they were afraid of being the first team to make a mistake on offense with the unimaginative playcalling.

The average NFL team score for a game is 20. So I would disagree.

what? team score? So we're looking at a 40 pts average for a game, right? Is that low scoring?

I only watched the first half, but it was really refreshing to see. It gives hope that "truly grown man football" can still work in college. 3 of the top 4 teams in the country play smash mouth football instead of the gimmicky stuff.

There's no such thing. Strategically you do whatever it takes to move your team down the field and win - just like war. The object is to score more points than you're opponent just like chess isn't an arm-wrestling competition.

Under your antiquated view, WWII should have been fought with Blue and Gray infantry lines marching right at each other - like "truly grown men fighting war."

All the NFL games I watched today used it as an example as how football should be played.

Ohio State/Michigan '06 had all kinds of scoring, but that didn't make it a better game. This one going to OT makes it better than that one.

First off, football /= war. Alabama and LSU (and Stanford to a lesser degree) could line up on offense, tell the opposing defense what they were going to run, and it still wouldn't matter. They don't have to "out scheme" teams and use all sorts of misdirection and fakes to beat them. They just hold them to under 10 points and pound them on offense.

I respect watching that football a lot more than all of the spread option stuff that's been going on lately.

LSU wins. That defense gives up 50 to KSU and Ware/Ford would run roughshod on that defense.

to 8 in a row!

I watched the first half and really enjoyed the defensive battle as a change but I have zero interest in seeing that again for my NC game. I think it's lame the QB's aren't even given the ball to try and make a play. Luckily (pun intended) we get Stanford/Oregon next Saturday to treat the nation with Touchdowns and a lack of elite D.
