Why does Bama deserve a chance?

If LSU and Bama both win out, tell me why Bama deserves a chance to play in the national championship. I do believe LSU and Alabama are the top 2 teams in the country. But part of LSU and Alabama's paths to the National Championship was getting through each other. Both teams knew a win in this game likely meant a trip to the NC game. LSU went into Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama. No one can convince me that after losing at home to LSU that Bama's post season consolation prize is a rematch with LSU. Meanwhile, LSU's prize for winning out is an extra game in Atlanta. Like I said, part of playing in the SEC is knowing you have to get through tough games like this if you want to get to a national title game. LSU got through it. Bama didn't. Just IMO, they don't deserve that accolade of a NC berth.

They don't. Plain and simple. They had the game at their stadium, at night, and played like hell. They still lost. They don't deserve a shot at the title at all.

Even if LSU drops a game, they probably don't deserve the chance.

Glad I'm not alone in thinking this. I think Bama is a great team. And likely otherwise unbeatable. But the game "LSU&Alabama" was played. LSU won. Why have a rematch? They had their shot and lost. Bring on the next victim.

exactly what I was thinking earlier...I know it is not commercially possible, but if that scenario presented itself, then I think the game should be canceled and we should be named NC by default....

I'm not. I didn't say Alabama isn't a championship caliber team. If LSU, Okie State, Stanford and Boise lose, Alabama is right back up there in the championship talk. I'm not saying Alabama doesn't deserve to play in a national title game because they're a 1 loss team. I'm saying that if LSU wins out, Alabama doesn't deserve the same accolade we earned by beating them.

Wrong Moron.
We won our conference.
It's not the fact that bama lost a game. It's the fact that if we take care of business, they would not have won their conference. The would not have even won their division.
Its not about if you have losses, its about if you win your conference.
If we dont win the conference in 03 and 07 then we dont deserve the national title.

They don't
They won't
We take care of bidness and we're the first team with 3 glass rocks.

Because they're better than Boise.

I hope not. And before a bammer comes in and says I'm scared..... hell yeah I am. I don't want to play Bama again cause they're so damn good.

likely. But that would have been a mood point had they beat us. They didn't.

This isn't my opinion, but here's an answer to your question...
The point of the BCS is to put the 2 best teams in the country in a 2 team playoff for the BCS title. There are no rules about rematches or having to win your conference (although, some would argue that there should be). So, if 12-13 games are played, and Alabama is one of the top 2 teams as determined by the BCS formula, they should play for the title. That's what everyone has agreed to.

We didn't lose to Oklahoma or Ohio State in the regular season. He is not being hypocritical at all.

If the OUs beat Stanford & OK State and LSU wins out, who should they play?
A) Boise State- only undefeated team in the group, but would have zero wins against Top Ten teams in the final BCS standings
B) Oregon- would have the best record of the once beaten teams, Pac-12 champs, only lost was by 13 points to LSU @ a neutral site, would have a win over a Top Ten team in the final standings (Stanford)
C) Bama- would not have won their conference or divison, only lost was by 3 points in OT to LSU @home, win over a BCS final top ten team depends on what Penn State does @Nebraska, Ohio State, & Wisconsin
D) Oklahoma- Big 12 champs, same record as Bama, worse loss of the three teams, would have a win over a BCS Top Ten team (OK State), probably would finish with the toughest schedule of the three

If they want a rematch, I hope they have last night's game saved on their dvr because that will be the only chance they'll get.
If this would have been in Baton Rouge, I'd be all for letting them have a 2nd shot on a neutral field, but the fact is they Lost the game (no matter how close) at HOME.

What the hell are you talking about?
His point was that LSU will have get to and win the SECCG in order to go to the BCSCG. Bama wouldn't.
LSU went to and won the SECCG both times.
Faulty logic!
