Agree or disagree? I tend to agree and think it is sad that we are taking a mid tier team away from the Big 12 only to see them replace Mizzou with a better team that would rather be with us in the SEC. Mizzou might mean slightly more money, but we are sacrificing our product which is great football and the most passionate fans in college football. At least WVU has passion for their team.

Agree for the most part

Mizzou basketball has always been good, but since Huggins got to WVU they are now in a stronger position

Mizzou fans do not give a shite about football

Mizzou's administration has failed to put any money in to facilities and they are a joke

That being said, I wish Mizzou would stay

Comments like that are why we are glad to be out of that conference.

Missouri isn't even officially gone and they are already getting ripped on.

If the tables were turned you would be doing the same thing

Please don't act like TAMU is so much better than the Big12

The potential is there though. Now they can recruit in SEC states better. Facilities can always be improved. I remember them being packed int he Chase Daniels days so they just need to get the ball rolling and I am sure the fans will come. Right now yes the statement holds a lot of truth. However, West Virginia has been in the big east winning games and always seems to have the big let down that burst the hype.

Are Nebraska and Colorado also forever shunned from Big 12 teams' schedules?

I agree.

Now think about this......

Past 10 years of football. TCU (2 BCS), West Virginia (2 BCS) Missouri (Cotton)

TV Markets... TCU, Missouri, WVU.

Potential with the SEC money and exposure to have the better program which in turn helps the SEC..... ?

Very good point. They will try to put the ban on us, but didnt give half a shite when the others walked out. Its hilarious Texas of anybody is making comments like this. They destroy the conference then get mad when people dont give in. Again on articles like these just consider who is saying it.

This is what the bean-counters who only see $$$ signs don't get and can't comprehend. They are not football people, they are money people. It's what I've been saying here all along. Thank you for putting this concept into a short, concise statement. I hope somebody in charge still has a little bit of sense before it's too late.

no not at all.

I would be lamenting the fact that my conference can't keep schools or build back to a respectable 12 teams.

I think both schools have strong athletic programs and fan-bases... not big enough of a difference between the two to influence a decision like this imo. I think you have to look at what the school has to offer beyond those things.

Well it is kind of fricking true. I think we could do better. They're not even going to be that great in BBall. We stole their coach.

Scar did not bring a great athletic program to the table either when it joined in 1991. However, playing in the SEC motivated them to step up their game. Mizzou is in a much better place than Scar was when they joined. They will make the product more valuable financially immediately and eventually competitively.

Missouri has a better basketball team, their football team over the last 5 years has been better, and in a MUCH better conference. The Big East almost lost it's AQ status in 08. They are basically the Mountain West but worse.

frick WVU.

Come on over Missouri we will just dominate your campus with fans like we did Ole Miss this past weekend.

quote:

The Razorbacks kept the momentum in the second half, buoyed by a stadium that had a neutral-field atmosphere because of the thousands of Arkansas fans who travelled across the Mississippi River for the game.
