I wouldn't mind not having any penalties at all for taunting. It's part of the game let them play. What does the MSB think

Doesn't need to be removed just put back to how it used to. Make it a 15 yard penalty on the kick.

i wouldn't go that far. but i do think they should change the penalty to where it's enforced on the team's next offensive possession instead of negating a touchdown.

Why not though? The game is supposed to be fun and competitive, who cares of one player is ragging on another or showboating, that's part of the fun of playing competitive sports. Maybe it's because I'm from a younger generation but honestly I love how much swag our team has this year. If teams hate us for it who cares that's part of the game, and endears the players even more to the fans. People hated the U back in the day for their showboating, but it made beating them feel so much sweeter. Win win for both sides I say.

the problem is sports are run by old white yuppies who absolutely do not relate to young persons or blacks.

Agree completely a 15yd penalty or negated touchdown for this shite is ridiculous. Their is supposed to be hard feelings in between teams. Football is a fricking contact sport, you can't say that players can hit the frick out of some RB but if the RB makes a move and takes it all the way he can't talk smack to the guy who was just trying to destroy him.

I agree. I think the players would really police themselves. I go for unlimited taunting and celebration. I think some extra time ought to be given after each score, interception, completion, good run, tackle etc for the young men to really have time to express themselves.

Sarcasm? It's pretty much unlimited in the NFL and it doesn't really slow the game up. I mean if players aren't ready by the time the play clock hits zero throw a flag for that. No one is doing soccer goal celebrations out there, time wouldn't be an issue at all.

I totally disagree. Penalties for taunting are necessry as long as there are hot dog look at me actions. Act like you scored before and play with sportsmanship. College football isn;t the playground.

The pros can take a lesson.

It 100% is for these guys though man. It's a fricking game and it should be. TM7 gets credit from all of us but God forbid he acknowledge it during the heightened emotions of a game. Everyone already gives players individual acknowledgement with the Heisman and other awards, but at some point it became wrong for them to celebrate when they make a play or letting another player know that they are better then them. And as much as you want it to be this game is not entirely a team sport, Patrick Peterson got drafted last year not the entire defense.

For whatever reason we are holding kids to a higher standard then their adult counterparts, and it makes no sense.

Their out there to play a game and show class and sportsmanship. No need for the dancing and in your face crap. The pros act like fools you're right. Diving in the endzone, spiking the ball etc. The same metlaity that glorifies the massve dunks and such in basektball.

I think there should be the 15 yarder enforced on the PAT or kickoff. I just hate the new rule. It takes away a score when said penalty in no way enabled the team to score. Another dumb part of this rule is that say the guy doesn't "taunt" before scoring - he can then throw the ball at the opponent's face, do back handsprings in the endzone, dance like Travolta from Saturday Night Fever, grab a cheerleader and make out with her, and only get penalized 15 yards on the PAT or kickoff and the TD still stands.

Little hard to do if you're a punter.

I don't like taunting, but I think taking away a touchdown is even worse. If it's over the top, just do it on the kickoff or extra point. That always worked just fine in the past.

They're out there for entertainment and to make money for the school. Both of those are more then fulfilled by them celebrating whenever they want and hampered by subjective penalties for shite that doesn't affect the game at all.

It's not golf. These guys are 18-21 years old and play a sport that glorifies physical contact, big personalities and playmakers. The common fan, there or watching, is most likely drunk and cursing and not acting in gentlemanly fashion, and would care less if people celebrate "excessively" or taunt they want to watch football not a courteous game of golf.

Why is it so hard to understand? The penalty took place before the TD was scored. If the taunting would've taken place after he was in the endzone, then the 15 yards would've been tacked on the kickoff or the PAT.

Do we let a player score if there is illegal block in the back on the play of a punt return for a TD? No, the infraction is penalized at the point of the foul.
