I've always thought it was about 20k to buy enough priority points to move to the front of the line if you start at zero. Am I right?

If you give $5000, you will MAYBE get a call next year.

Of course, if you give $5000 for 2011 and another $5000 for 2012, you'd be pretty much guaranteed a call next year.

If you are starting at zero, I would recommend just giving $100 every year for a couple years and you'll get a call within 3-7 years. In the meantime, just buy season tickets on the open market.

I may be wrong, because I often am, but I don't hink you get any more points for $20k then you do for $5k. the key is to do the minimum amount of money at the maximum level of points for multiple years

Yeah, they should fix that. It encourages small donations, which is great, but the big ones are the ones that matter.

This is true? Or just a guess?

I give $100 a year. I've got tickets. Of course a few years of giving while in the Collegiate Club didn't hurt while in undergrad. I only had to wait one season before I got my season tickets in 2007. I was 25 and had 4 tickets in my name that weren't passed down or had any family connections.

That's wrong. You get 1 point for every $1000 donated. So 20,000 is 20 pts. 5000 is 5 pts.

The minimum donation level is $100 yearly for membership. Thats 0.1 points. Every consecutive year you sign up, you get 3 additional points.

So giving $100 a year gets you 0.1 in year 1, then 3.1 in year 2, and 3.1 every additional consecutive year.

If you pick and choose what you donate to... it can add points as well.

For example... I give a good bit to the Forever LSU fund and the LSU College of Business.... I get Priority points.... but half as much as I would if they were TAF donations.

But my goal is not just points for ticket priority.... I want to support LSU and programs I am involved with.

Good point on joining TAF, donate $100 per year and you start to accumulate points.... but so do MANY of the 1000's of people ahead of you already...so I'm not sure about 3 -7 years..... I've been doing it more than 3 years and my ranking actually dropped a little bit last year to this year.

I did the $5000 Fightin' Tigers dontation in 2004. Got me like 20 points right off the bat and 2 tickets in the south endzone, lower section.

Give $1k each year + face value of the tickets. This covers the TAF fee for the tickets, plus breaks the $1k barrier, plus you get the point for each year that you've been a contributor.

I've received 2007 National Champ ticks, every bowl we've been to, and decent seats to all away games I've put in for EXCEPT the first 2 road trips to Bama after Saban started. This year I didnt put in, but would have qualified for Bama ticks too.

Someone in the season ticket thread on the ticket exchange this summer said he did this, and now he's got very good seats on the sideline, IIRC. I think he said he was in the top 1000 in TAF after doing this, but not sure about that.

It took me giving $100 for 2-3 years before I was able to get 2 singles in my name, then another 2 years before I was able to put those singles into piggybacks, then another year to be able to get 2 side by side. So, $600 over 6 years and I was able to get 2 side by side.

I'm just guessing, but my guess is based on years of familiarity with TAF/Priority points.

If you've got $5000 to burn, it's a no-brainer to just give $5k and immediately get 20+ priority points. But for most people that don't have $5k to burn, the best thing to do is just give $100 a year every year... you will eventually get a call, but it will take a couple years. And in the meantime just buy season tickets at face or a couple $100 above face on the open market.

JP is correct.

If you give 5K this year you will get the 10 point for the donation (2pts per 1K) plus the 7 bonus points.
Turn around and do this again in January and you will get the 10 points and another 7 bonus... equaling 34 points. If you did all 10k this year you would have 32 points.
This would be enough to get you some lower level tickets. Well, atleast it would of been this year.

You are essentially correct. To really move ahead in the rankings, one has to give more than $100 per year. I donated $300 in 2010 and my ranking improved from 5288 to 5071. They stopped offering two tickets together at 4060. So, if I use my figures, I would have to donate $300 per year for the next five years before I get that phone call from the ticket office. Or, of course, bite the bullet and donate $1500 right now.

Also road games and season tickets use slightly different rankings. I had a meeting with a TAF rep over the summer and it was all explained to me. I'm ranked higher for season tickets than I do road games.

I've never purchased complete season tickets off marketplace so not sure what they go for. What's a range for season tickets on the sideline lower level? (Yes, I realize it's probably a pretty big range.)

If you're ok with west upper deck it's not too tough to get a pair. Good thing about the ones towards the ends is there is no tradition fund fee so they are straight up face value plus whatever you decide to donate.

Do the 3 additional bonus points apply to philanthropic points and/or your priority points?
