I don't understand it. I know the wait is a pain and the prices are pretty high, but I've always thought it was a good option for ole time BR fried seafood and gumbo.

Neither do I. But, I don't recommend it either. Went there last night actually. I don't choose to go there, but it doesn't bother me when I'm not paying either.

Did not know this! I might have to belly up for about 3 dozen some time.

The one in Gonzales is pretty bad. I have never been impressed with a meal there, and for the price it's not worth it at all.

Food isn't as good as parrains, wait is always long, prices are high because of the name alone.

Wouldnt say I hate the place, but it's just not worth going there.

Eh, I don't know if people really HATE it as much as it was just overhyped and you have to pick the extreme other side to even it out

I don't recall a lot of hate. More of a lack of praise.

I heard that the one in Gonzo is 10x better than the one in BR? Is that incorrect?

I was pretty underwhelmed by Mike Andersons the last time I was there, to say the least. I'm sure I'll give it another chance eventually, but I'm not tripping all over myself to do it.

Parrains is much better for the same style and not as expensive.

And FWIW I had the crawfish ettouffee at Sammys today with the fried catfish and it was very good. For like 12 bucks. Don't know why vie never ordered that but it won't be my last.

I go to Parrain's for this style of food. MA's isn't bad, I just like other places better.

Agreed. The Chimes/Parrains guys used to work for MA.

I don't know if it is hate as much as disappointment. Mike Andersons used to be very good, broiled seafood platter was once my "last meal" option. It was great but the last time I had it, it wasn't the same, items replaced and taken off not to mention the prices have gotten kinda silly, t many places around BR where you can get the same menu for better prices.
