This is a note to the Oregon fans who think that their coach is so smart, therefore all the prep time will be to their benefit.

2005-2010 Record with extra time to prep (this counts season openers, games after bye-weeks, and bowl games): 16-3

Losses -- 2005 vs Tenn at home (we all love to re-live that one), 2008 @ UF (this one is fun to re-live too), and 2010 Cap One Bowl. That's it.

LSU is 6-0 in season openers under Miles, as well 7-2 in neutral site games (1-1 SECCG, 5-1 bowls, 1-0 other).

LSU's average score in these 19 games is 34-19.

LSU is 11-1 against non-conference teams in these extra-prep games. The average score in those games is 37-15.

Interesting note: LSU has opened the season away from Tiger Stadium for all but 2 seasons in 7 years (counting 2011).

Bring it, Duckies.

Should add - LSU has only lost 1 game to an non-conference opponent under Les Miles - the 2010 Cap One Bowl versus Penn State.

Some of those have been pretty close, with LSU being fortunate to win--Arizona State, Washington, and North Carolina.

They are not hand grenades. These are football games. See LSU vs. Bama for reference.

When you get lucky a lot, it's called talent. In any competitive endeavor, you can get lucky every now and then. When it happens too often, you're making your own luck.

And I'm an LSU fan...the avatar of Tiger Stadium didn't give it away?

I've always said that if we had two weeks between each game we would be undefeated every year.

Agreed. But I think many would say that neither the Washington nor North Carolina games should have ended up being that close.

Does it matter? Why complain about wins?

We're also scary good on turf and in dome stadiums over the past two decades.

I guess Jerry World is a semi dome even when it's open.

Because everyone here is all giddy with excitement looking at the record. But Oregon will be a better team than any other team LSU has faced in an opener under Miles. Although LSU was expected to handle some of those teams, we didn't. I am just being cautious because this place will be in full meltdown mode if LSU loses.

I agree, Lsu usually starts slow but we are not playing Kent St. like bama. I think LSU will be sky high when they play the ducks because of all the BS from OU fans. They think the Pac10 is equal to the SEC. frick them &

The funny looking "A" and the avatar statement of " Ala fan" trumps a pic in my mind. Set the record straight to avoid confusion.

Many on the SEC rant did it for solidarity following the terrible tornadoes that hit Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas. I will change it back before football season.
