What type of blind grass do you like for hunting in the marsh? This is on sale at academy for ~$27 but I'm not sure how it will look. Looks kinda "leafy" to me for the marsh but I need some advice.

I've always believed you need to use what's there but we hunted ducks in Johnson's Bayou and had bamboo stuck in wire that we'd drive our marsh buggy in and hunt out of. Stuck out like a sore thumb but the ducks liked our pond and we'd do VERY well.

thanks. the more I look at it the better it looks and for that price I don't think I'll find anything better.

It looks pretty "marshy" to me. Salt grass looking. I might would spray in a touch of green to really blend it in and break up the lines.

Buy it and build you a blind. Go out in the marsh and get some green marsh grass and get lowes to mix you some paint of the green. Then spray the material with the green paint to blend the brown and green.

I obviously don't know what grows in the marsh where you hunt...however, from the looks of it you aren't gonna go wrong...

as the others said, you may want to break it up with something native to the area, but I really think that would blend with any marsh I have ever hunted, particularly after a frost or two...

What we ended up doing was putting a pit blind in the summer and by duck season the native grass had grown up around it. We'd park our marsh buggy 50 yards off and cover with camo burlap.

What kind of blind are you putting? Just curious.

Works great on a pop up blind. I have hunted just about everywhere with mine & had success. Mix in a little natural vegetation & you are good to go.

Here is my boat..

That looks great. This may sound stupid but how is that grass layed out? It looks like more than just the grass sheets layed next to eachother 4 or 5 wide. Great looking rig you have.

I put them on where the seam is @ the bottom of the boat. Just side by side with some overlapping. Hang it so the grass falls outward if that makes sense. I used a large netting first & then zip tied the sheets of grass to the netting. Depending on where I hunt, I will cut some natural veg & add in. That hunt, we just pulled up, popped the blind up & started hunting.

I think that would work well. Use that as your main cover, and as everyone else said, add some native vegetation when you get there.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks. Looking forward to having a nice blind and not having so stand/sit in the tall grass!
