I need a new safe, and I'm thinking about picking this one up once I save up the funds.

Anybody on the OB have it or know anything about it? Any good?

I think that's the brand they sell at Academy... kinda light weight.

I helped my buddy bolt his to the floor in his closet and was suprised how "light" it actually was.

As long as it keeps kids and thugs out away from my guns light is ok with me.

Looks slick to me. The only thing you have to remember with those kinda safes though is that a 24 gun safe will not hold 24 long guns without major effort. Space is very tight in those things. If you're gonna be putting over 20 long guns in it, you may want to look into a bigger one if it's possible.

ETA: Just saw it has a power box. That is badass. You could plug in a light and dehumidifier

I have that exact one and got an awesome deal.
There is a place in Picayune MS that is well worth the drive to pick up. They will deliver to for $90-100 bucks to BR. I have 24 gun version, 600 lbs, 30 min fire resistant. So for the comment about it being light, I dont call 600 lbs light... It was an "oops" safe right at ~ $500. The problem was they were for Cabelas and they painted them the wrong color. Works perfect and pondering buying another. They get a shipment every now and again. Watch LINK they post there often and if you want just search Cannon Gun Safe Scratch and Dent Sale! in LA sportsman search feature, it should bring up their add when they get more.

The other thing you can do is call them ahead of time and pay over the phone, they will hold one from their next shipment for you. This is what I did. Your CC will not be charged until pickup... They have other sizes for discount prices. The term scratch and dent really is not the case. mine was new in the box, which is what they indicated all safes are like.

This is their contact info:

Richies Pawn & Gun
300 Memorial Blvd
Picayune, Ms 39466
601-798-9449 office

Give them a call they may have some, or they can tell you when they will have more in.

Yeah I know about Richies. They posted the add on bayou shooter. They ran out of them this in May.

That guy is pretty well prepared for the zombies assuming he has the ammo to match his arsenal.

I have a smaller cannon safe and I love it. I want a bigger one but it'll have to wait until I get a larger house.

Everything I've read says Cannon and Liberty are the top two brands. When I build my house next year I plan on trying to grab one of the discounted safes from Richies.

This is my safe. I spent some time researching safes and decided on one that was much bigger than I originally thought I needed. Best decision I ever made. Also, be sure to get a safe with an internal power jack. Plug in your dryrod, and no need to worry about rust.

Try Circle Hardware in Albany, La(567-5453). I researched the snot outta safes from west coast to east coast including the safes at Local Tractor Supply, Academy, guns stores, lock stores and found the price and safe from Circle could not be beat.

The bolts on the Cannon safes at Academy are small and don't have bolts on three door sides. The chosen safe was the Big Fatboy which is suppost to hold 60 guns for $1,200. The safe is awesome and is very heavy like 800 lbs

When I was researching safes I liked the Liberty Fatboy Holds 64 guns so you can probably get a legitimate 40 in there.

I bought from Richie's also. I got the scratch n dent, not the mispainted ones. (I think it was bui;t a little sturdier than the ones for academy or Cabela's) It ain't light by any means.

Came new in box, can't find a scratch on it. I suggest calling them about it even if they are out of stock right now...unless you need one today. They may be planning another group buy in a month or so.

Highly recommend the cannon one, mine has the internal power supply too
