Flip that and we'd be looking at #4 in the SEC right now. Young teams lose close ballgames.

Bad coaching also doesn't help either.

They were 6-1 in 1-run SEC games in '09. Good coaching contributed to that, yes?

Last nights game should have never been a 1 run game. Poor 3rd base coaching and/or poor base running decisions by players made it a 1 run game. We snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory in last nights game.

Hows it different than that coaching staff of 09?

Flip that and you would have a team that was at least 10+ runs better in run differential over 29 SEC games this season.

LSU sucks because the overall stats suck.

It's depressing that we have not won a 1-run game since the Cal-State Fullerton series.

This is PM's fifth year. Last year we made Hoover as the 8 seed on the last weekend. How long does he get to ride the "young team" horse ?

LSU fans never used to give making the SEC tournament a thought. It was a 'gimme'. Now with Manieri, Hoover is becoming a challenge.

No one ever said anything about a young team last year. Last year the problem was your MLB prospect starting pitcher was never healthy and lack of a true third starter.

The problem I have with that argument is that the young guys have stepped up this season. Outside of Mahtook, it's the veteran players that aren't getting it done. Our young starting pitching hasn't been the problem.

Out of 13 starters including weekend starters and closer, LSU has , I believe, 4 freshman: 2 starters, 2b, c.

I don't know this, but my guess would be that is about the same as most SEC teams. In baseball, a second year player isn't "young".

Actually, yes. If you've followed LSU Baseball(especially past few years), you'd know a lot of those games were close because of dumb shite. Like *cough* bad baserunning *cough*. They had several games where teams shouldn't have been in it with LSU. shite happens in Baseball but not when you have a dumbass sitting at third making calls. Javi has run us out of so many innings since he came here.

You don't know baseball very well do you? Bad baserunning doesn't make a good team average. And frankly, there isn't a lot of science to baserunning. It's judgement. Agressive baserunners and baserunning teams will experience failure, but the net affect of aggressive baserunning over the course of a season will almost always be a positive.

Defense and leadership win championships. And this team lacks both.

Yeah, it totally sucked dick what Mainieri did.

That a-hole had the audacity to win 3 in a row.
