Do you put a "Buy it now" price on your ebay auctions?

I'm about to put a bunch of stuff up for sale on ebay and I'm wondering if I should add this feature. I have a good idea what a couple of the items are worth, but I don't know if this is a good idea since the price may go above what I'd select. I'll probably put a reserve on one of them since there likely aren't a ton of buyers in that market, but I'm not sure about Buy it now. To me buy it now is for people who don't want to frick with the auction part of things, but the auction part is what brings out passion and higher prices. What say the OTeth?

Depends on the item. I use buy it now for things that won't go as high on auction. You just gotta look at completeds.

How the frick do I know? I follow the auctions to get a good idea of price, but can you figure out if the buy it now prices are higher or lower?

you prety much summed it up, just gotta decide what's best for your item. the buy it now's i have are usually slower selling items. I always list them until they sell instead of 7 days.

if you want to price it up some you can do buy it now or best offer.

Hmmm....auctions are always hit or mess, depending on when you list the item and how much competition you have.

for stuff like, say, Video games, I always use fixed price.

For something like my kids' used dresses I'll let it go to auction and put a BIN on it of the highest I've seen it sell for on auction.

I've used buy it now before and they sold within a day or two. Guess I had them priced well.

I have one item that is rarely on ebay, but it sells for damn near new prices. I risk the market not being there when I put it up.

One item is traded on ebay a ton, new and used, but I have a neat color combo that may create a nice buzz on there.

One item I have may or may not have a market, since the ones for sale at high prices don't seem to move. I may just throw that one up with a reserve on it.

First item, auction.

Second item, auction with BIN at a level slightly above what you expect it to go for.

Third item, fixed price good til cancelled.

I'll have to be really creative with the title for the first item. This is it new LINK. I don't see a lot of market on ebay for bike trailers at all, and this mofo was expensive as hell.

The second is a BOB revolution stroller but I have a discontinued color comb, blue and chocolate.

Third is an aluminum laptop breifcase called a Zero by Halliburton. None have bids on them though.

question...how much profit are you looking for, or are you just looking to unload it?

i'm facing sort of this same dilemma, but i don't know whether i should be greedy and set a high BIN price or just let it auction away knowing that i'll profit anyway for it.

I want to buy a $1500 surfboard, so I'm trying to justify the cost to my wife by taking shite out of the attic and selling them. I don't really want to give the stuff away since it is all really high quality, but it's not worth much to me in the attic.

If you've been watching the items and they go for the same price each time, do a buy it now. if you're willing to go lower add the best offer so you don't lose a sale. I would also be careful with reserves unless it's a high price item, buyers tend to be reluctant at times if it's there in my experience.

If you're in a hurry, stick to the auctions. I've also noticed ebay has off weeks at times. I've listed an item that didn't sell, then relisted it 2 weeks later and it sold for higher than I expected. It's not science.

Do you already have a username with feedback? I think you're limited to auctions until you have so much feedback.

I always sell with Buy it Now, that way I am guaranteed to get a decent price or not sell it.
