I have a feeling that the Saints really covet Cameron Jordan and might be willing to move up in the draft to get him. The Saints could be on the phone with the Patriots swapping first round picks and the Saints giving them a 2nd or 3rd in next year's draft if Cameron Jordan is available at #17. The highest graded running back in the draft could be available at #24 where the Patriots select Mark Ingram with the trade. It's just a scenario to think about...

If Cameron Jordan is there at 17 and the Pats didn't trade up, they will pick Cameron Jordan at 17.

With so many players set to be free agents on the roster, I think we would trade down for more picks.

I love speculating about possible trades.

Picks for the following year are valued one round lower. IMO it is quite optimistic to think you could make that move even for the Saints 2nd. If I was GMing I would value it at about 150pts. #24 to #17 is 210pts. LINK

You could make the move as I suggested in the link above for #24 + #72 FOR #17 + #172. I think they would more likely make such a move for Robert Quinn, Aldon Smith, Bowers, or possibly Kerrigan. I love Jordan but he is in the 3-4DE mold similar to Watt, Clayborn, & Heyward.

McShay just discussed the Pat's and have Cam Jordan at the top of their board. He proposed a scenario where NE could trade with Dallas to get Jordan - who comes out of a true 3-4 sytems.
