I am in the market for a new pair of fishing sunglasses. I am not one to spend the big bucks like many on the coastas, etc. I am looking for something more around $60. I mostly bass fish.

Any recommendations for cheaper sunglasses? Ive been shopping online, but need some advice to maybe narrow my search a little.

I spent $8 at walmart on a pair of Berkeley sunglasses with amber lenses. They work like a champ.

I know, NF. IDGAF.

Have heard good things about Calcutta sunglasses. A bunch of guys I know use them. They run like 20-25 bucks.

Buddy had a pair of strike kings for awhile that he liked a whole lot. Have also heard the calcutta shades are pretty legit for the price.

Academy sports has a brand called Magellan. I've had a couple of pairs and they performed very well. I also have a couple of pairs of Berkely's from the Mart that do great.

I get my Costa 580s (glass lenses) from a dealer buddy of mine for $125. There isn't a better lens out there for anywhere near that price, but I know they're typically $200+.

I did have a decent pair of Solar Bats I won in a tourney. I think they were probably about $100 retail. But it didn't take long for them to scratch (plastic). I had a pair of Bolle about 6 years ago I bought for $80. Lenses were good (for plastic), but frame was fragile. The earpiece was always coming off, and the lenses would pop out sometimes just from folding the glasses. They popped right back in, but clearly poor construction.

I just bought a pair of Browning Stalker glasses for $63.00 with shipping from bass pro. Light weight, good lenses and look good. Worth the money.

I usually just buy a cheap pair with brown lenses at Walgreens. I lose/scratch/sit on them too much to spend money on an expensive pair for the woods or fishing.

Oakley tactical off of eBay $70. Come with headstrap and carrying case without two lenses. You can also by more lenses as I have and modify them weigh a dremel drill to fit the noch in the top center of the tactical. Have amber, smoke, clear, and orange.

You'd be amazed how responsible you'll be if you ever have an expensive pair of shades. I use to go thru three pair of cheapos every summer. Yet I still have my Costas from 5 years ago. Never lost a pair. Broke one pair, but paid a few bucks and Costa replaced them.

I don't use them to weed eat or run a grinder. Cheapos for that.

I bought my bro a pair of Oakley M frame tacticals on eBay for $50 a few years ago for when he played baseball. Really nice pair of shades, but none of the lenses were polarized. We recently looked for polarized lenses and the cheapest we could find for them was $100. Instead he just bought a pair of costas NIB from eBay for $100.

+1 on this. I used to frick up every pair of shades I bought after a few months until I got my costas. Not a scratch on them after 2 years
