Lakers fans hate CP3 with a passion.
Apparently he gets every call, if someone breathes on him it's a foul, and he flops every single time.

Was he a true Laker fan as in, lives in or is from California in the greater L.A. area? Or is he some dude from LaPlace that has always bandwagoned the Lakers and has no historical or geographical ties at all to the team? Because there were plenty of the latter at the game.

I have to ask about this bandwagon stuff. We have not always had the Hornets so those of us growing up watching NBA usually adopted other teams. Me personally, I never had a favorite I used to just love watching the great players of the 80's and 90's. My older Brother though was a Die hard Laker fan since we were kids. I don't consider him a Bandwagon guy. He started watching them when Magic, Worthy and Kareem were running shite and he has stuck with them.

Good post. I agree with that, Im a Lakers fan also. I like the Hornets more since they're here but LAL would be my second choice. Always like them especially when Shaq arrived.
So are the thousands of Cubs fans in NOLA also bandwagon?

Question for you. Since I live in Baton Rouge, and my city has no pro team, but is close to New Orleans. Must I be a Hornets/Saints fan and if I am not then I am a bandwagon fan of a team I do not live by?

If you love the state of Louisiana you should be a Hornets/Saints fan.

That is a bunch of crap. Just because the team is in a state in which I was born does not mean that I have to be a fan of theirs.

Whatever dude. Must be a ton of fun hating on your own state.

The Hornets represent the city, the region and this state. If you "don't like them", then you pretty much just don't share the same civic pride as most of the other fans do. And that's sad, most people in this area are very proud to call this home and are proud how the Hornets have represented us.
And if you didn't have a team and just liked the Lakers because they were good. Well, yes, that makes you a bandwagon fan. There really is very little reason for anyone in the NO area to like the Lakers other than because they were really good and winning. You're cheering for a front runner simply because they are a front runner. It's the definition.
And you can't say because of Shaq, Shaq is in Boston, and he was with the Magic, and left the Lakers for the Heat. That just doesn't add up.

I'm actually not hating on my state. I could careless either way if the Hornets/Saints win. I have never supported either franchise, and another 22 years from now it will be the same way. Everyone here hates the bandwagon fans, but if I did randomly start supporting them then I would be one. So which is worse? A person who has never been a fan of the team, but lives in its state, or a bandwagon fan?
And it is true that Lakers fans are the worse.

Growing up in NOLA as a kid most of us had exposure to 3 MLB teams, Cubs (WGN), Stros (FSN), Braves (TBS). As a kid I was a Cubs fan and I think it had a little to do with the Bozo show being on the same channel has the games.

That doesn't make any sense at all. I'm not sure you really get what a bandwagon fan is - someone with no ties to a region and picks a winning team to be a fan of simply because they have some dominant player. Someone from Louisiana who chooses to be a Hornets fan is not a bandwagon fan. How do you think any fan base is born?

So people in North Louisiana who are closer to say..Dallas then they are to New Orleans should still be a Hornets fan just because they live in Louisiana?
I think the shallowest fans are the ones who do it because they have to. "I live in Louisiana, and thus I must be a Hornets fan."
In fact, I would now like to claim every Hornets fan a bandwagon fan. Where you their fan before they came here? What happened to that team you watched before?
Yes the Hornets are the NBA team of Louisiana, and yes many in the state love them. However, to say you should like them solely because

The Hornets/Saints are both winning teams, correct? If someone like myself, who has never supported either, became their fan would you call me a bandwagon fan? My favorite NBA team is a good team, granted, however my father is from the city and has always supported them. Thus I have grown up a fan of theirs(not the lakers). However, my favorite NFL/MLB teams both suck. An you'll never se me pull for the Pats/Yankees.
