How do you pronounce "pirogue" ??

I say the last one but my buddy from SWLA says the first.

I've only ever heard it one way. PEE-ROW, so I don't even know how to begin to say it like you. I might have heard it before and not understood what they said though.

myself and immediate family say "pee-row". uncle from thibodeaux says it the other way.
