Did anyone else notice #56 getting doubled and in the backfield a whole lot on Saturday? Still a SR in High School and our OL couldn't contain him! Yes he was offsides 1 play but wow this young man impressed me the most on Saturday! I can't wait,to see him this upcoming season! i believe he eventually wins a starting spot!

The Freak is living up to his reputation, no doubt. He still has a ways to go technique wise (mainly taking on double teams, maintaining gap control) but when he was single blocked on Saturday, he absolutely abused Blackwell.

I noticed that too. Even if he's double teamed it will let others get loose. Helps errbody out

Yep i wish Collins would've come early too! Saw him on film he's a monster! Those 2 guys could be battling for the Lombardi award against each other in 3 years!!!

He was nicknamed properly.

That's why you can't pay attention to Matt Moscona yesterday talking sh!t about Freak Johnson & being "disappointed".

They double-teamed him, & he also had Blackwell thinking about him so much, he false-started twice.

Johnson has moved up into the solid two-man rotation at tackle, and that provides us a ton of depth with Brockers, Ferguson, Freak, Logan, & don't forget Mongtomery, either.

People should just ignore 97% of what Matt Moscona has to say on any topic.

I also think Brockers will step in for Nevis and won't skip a beat.

Dude was plugging gaps and making plays Saturday

How is AJ still a Sr. in highschool? He can't play spring ball unless he's enrolled in college so wouldn't that make him a freshman? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my understanding.

He's not a SR in HS, but his high school classmates are still in HS. I think the intention of the post was to point out that he's a young guy and would still be in HS, if he hadn't enrolled at LSU early.

What they mean is that the kid should still be in high school, doing offseason training or something.

With Freak and Brockers starting, I would love that. I think Ego has the talent, but he definitely needs a better work ethic and give it his all more often. I still like Ego and think he will do good this year as well.

When we will be able to blitz, Freak will be causing a lot more havoc as he won't be doubled nearly as much

This should be his final semester of high school, but he is enrolled in college instead. This is someone who doesn't have the extra year of development against people who are already in college and of normal college age.

Remember he was still playing high school football just a few months ago--you can't expect him to do everything immediately.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm really excited about this kid. I'm betting he will even get a couple of starts this year, but come his Jr. year he's going to be on the highlight reel every week.
