Recently moved right by city park and been scoping out some prospect spots. Anyone know of the best places would be much appreciated.

I caught my biggest on Dalrymple by the overpass, standing by the boat launch casting toward the interstate.

There are a lot of spots along E Lakeshore with lots of structure. Just walk from along the lake from Dalrymple to Stanford and you should find some good spots.

I run the lakes a lot and like to fish too so I've been scoping some places out. Just got my fishing rod from home down here with me so I'm hoping to hit a few spots. I've seen several in kayaks fishing the sorority row and there are some good spots over on the road that runs between Dalrymple and Stanford but I think that all of the bank is privately owned by the homeowners across the street. The smaller lake, the one that the interstate crosses over, looks pretty good in spots and I don't think that there is a problem with bank access, but I haven't seen many people fishing it.

Yea I run the lakes a lot to and thats what ive been doing. They have a lake to its self on east lake shore past the golf corse it bends back around in there I see people in bateaus on the weekends out there. I thought about under the overpass but it seems that pretty well sewed up with cane pole buddys. Ill be trying a few spots out, I will let you know the outcome as they come available. Anyhow Thanks for the tips.

Well guys I hit up some spots yesterday before the rain moved in. I tried East Lakeshore between the golf course and interstate...no luck. I tried by the bridge were the small beach is...no luck. Then i tried by the boat ramp and under the interstate....no luck. I was using watermelon with a chartreuse tail with and without sinker. Seems that there is too much trash in the water to throw a crank bait. Might try some jerk baits next go round.

Really need a boat/kayak to fish there. Any stick, stob, or brush away from the bank a ways will hold fish. It's just too shallow near the bank for about 50 yds. Caught nice stringers there late 80s and 90s.

Were you fishing there this morning? I saw someone pull a 1.5 pounder(guestimate) out of that corner this morning around 9 on my way to class.

Yeah that was me. I caught 14 off the bank. Most in that corner by the Rec center towards sorority row. You can catch fish here off the bank, but a yak would be easier. BTW, spinner bait caught all 14.

Nice! I thought it was a spinner but wasn't positive, trying to not hit sorostitutes and joggers. I wonder why it is that they are concentrated there? It seems pretty featureless.

Is that corner pocket close to the bridge that goes over that ditch/canal? I've been trying to learn the ins and outs of freshwater fishing since I can't make it down the road to Empire as much.

There's a lot of branches and rocks in that corner. Most I catch in the lake are holding up pretty tight on the banks. I managed to not lose a lure today but that is not the norm. U have to work your lure in or close to the structure to catch fish there. My goal is to catch a 5# plus there this spring. I know they are in there.

This was 10-15 years ago but that little pond on the right heading towards LSU on Dalymple use to produce alot of big fish.

East Lakeshore by the house that is on a point just south of 10 is/was good and had some cypress trees that always had bass on them(if in a boat)
