I remember several years back the rumor was that Spielberg wanted to go forward with a script about the military using dinosaurs carrying weapons.

They really screwed the pooch on 3. Let it die. I made my dad take me to see the first one like 7 times in theaters, literally, but 2 and 3 fell far short of the original

As terrible as the third one was, it was still better than that steaming pile of crap that Goldblum, Vince Vaughn and the rest put out in 1997.

sad thing is I remember the Lost World being a good book. The 2nd and 3rd movies were freaking abominations.

I was a kid when #2 came out, even at that age I knew it sucked and was hugely disappointed.
