Jordan Jefferson reminds me alot of Jason Campbell. As I remember it, Campbell wasnt all that great through his junior season. Actually I recall he was a liability. Good enough to win most games, but bad enough that he couldnt keep his team in the national title hunt.

But something happened his senior year, and he went 13-0. Threw for 2700 yds, 20 TDs and only 7 Int.

Will JJ have similar success in his final year as a Tiger and hold Mett at bay. Or can we expect Mett to take the reins?

Campbell had something like 4 OCs with Borges being his OC his last two. You saw him improve under Borges from year 1 to year 2.

..with a new OC, I full expect Mett to be ahead of JJ because JJ showed his lack of mental preparedness late in the season saying "NOW he was studying harder in film".. Now? Why wait until the end of your 3rd year? Because Mett committed and now you see yourself possibly becoming #2?

That's expecting a lot out of JJ. I think Jason Campbell had the highest QB rating ever in the SEC. It was like 170, with a 70% completion rate. That is insane. If JJ can put up that QB rating, it will be a NC year.

Size and athleticism I'm sure... that and he's struggled his 1st 3 years as Jason did with accuracy and decision making

campbell had shite for WR talent for pretty much his whole career there, JJ will have thrown to 3, possibly 4 NFL WRs by the time he is done at LSU. he's garbage.

Obamanu, Aromashodu, and Courtney Taylor all played in the NFL. as did his TE, and I think another WR. AU wasn't lacking much in talent on offense. coaching (prior to Borges) was another story.

Borges' first year in Auburn was in 2004, which was Campbell's Senior Year.

You couldn't see improvement from Year 1 to Year 2 because he was gone in Borges' second season.

And lets not forget Cadillac and Ronnie Brown peaking and keeping the secondary honest, on top of Carlos Rogers and Junior Rosegreen keeping the opposing offense off the field.

2004 Auburn was sttaaaaaaaaaaaaaccked, a perfect storm for Campbell to explode.

Sounds like a very similar pattern for JJ. New OC to teach fundamentals, loaded offensive talent, with a great defense.

Great question....I've held out hope for the last few years that JJ's career would finish up similar to Campbell's. I think there's a chance. Campbell was pretty bad until his senior campaign.

He will be even better than Jason Campbell. A lot of talent around him, a new OC, and coming off a good ending to last season. His confidence has to be soaring. All the stars are aligned for him to shine this coming season.

miles didnt go all out and recruit the #1 Juco QB in the nation to have him sit this year...he aint that dumb, hell he went 11-2 with a terrible QB...we'll see mett, just dont know when...i suspect the first game...JJ will choke in the spring game and that will set the tone for mett to pull ahead in the summer and fall workouts...

I will be happy if he can just make some first downs. He's good in bowl games, with a month to prepare, but in sec he's WAY out of his league

With zero improvement in 3yrs, why would the 4th be any different?
