I know I'm a little late, just never got around to it. I thought it was a better film than The Hurt Locker. Great movie, great dialogue and all the scenes kept your attention very well. Edge of your seat even when there was no action.

Christopher Waltz is a badass, and so is Brad Pitt.

Spoiler...

Only thing I didn't like was that the Hot Jewish girl died at the end, I loved her and wished she would have lived.

I kind of liked the fact that she martyred herself.

Definitely didn't. I also recently watched Gangs of New York for the first time and its like 160 minutes, but with movies as great as these they just fly by.

And I regardless if she martyred herself or not in terms of symbolism, i just thought she was hot and pretty hardcore so I wished she would have lived.

my favorite movie of '09 and top ten for the decade as well.

the whole movie was great, but the opening scene and bar scene were both really special.

I had really high expectations for the opening scene because of another thread on here. I thought it was really good, and especially liked his reference as to thinking like a Jew/rat and all that, but I liked the bar scene better. That whole scene from beginning to end was just very well written and acted.

LOVE Inglorious Bastards but don't care for Gangs. I didn't like it when I seen it at the theater, and I still don't. Just weird to, cuz I like all them actors.

Bar scene was top notch.

The final shot of Hitler and Goebbels was awesome...

It is a great, great movie.

Far better than the Hurt Locker, but that really doesn't have anything to do with IB's greatness.

The Hurt Locker was overrated garbage.

Inglorious Bastards was good, but I cant believe I am the only that seems to think it was quite a bit over-rated and over-hyped.

Every trailer clearly oversold Brad Pitt when in fact half of the movie if not more was completely unrelated to any trailer they showed. Not that it had to be all about Brad Pitt, but any part that didn't have Brad Pitt in it was not even remotely enjoyable to watch. I actually felt jipped.

Hurt Locker > Inglorious Bastards

Complete stupidity.

Tarantino hit a home run with the foreign actors but the American actors were terrible.

You make that movie without Brad Pitt and just focus on Landa's hunt for Shoshanna and her attempt to bomb her cinema (that way you still have the scene in the tavern where they are meeting to discuss the plan with OSS operatives) and you have a much, much, much better movie.

When you think about it, Landa's only punishment is that he has to wear a hat?!? I'll take that over dying, especially with all the stuff he negotiated with the Americans.

Two of the best scenes were w/o Brad Pitt. I liked him in the movie, but he wasn't the only reason I found it enjoyable.
